TAYLOR SWIFT – ‘Call It What You Want’ (Single Review)

Taylor Swift has slowly been dropping singles from her upcoming album Reputation, due for release November 10.
And although I have loved everything so far, her newest release ‘Call It What You Want’ is my favourite.
When ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ was released, along with its killer music video, it really set the tone for the entire album. Taylor has truly built a castle out of all the bricks they threw at her, she’s capitalised on the snake queen drama and Reputation is shaping up to be a much more edgy album than we might be used to from Taylor.
The single was released along with a lyric video that is very old school Taylor. Although I feel like the repeated typography could be a sneaky dig at Kanye West and his iconic Life Of Pablo album artwork.

.
However, ‘Call It What You Want’ has more of the 1989 vibe that we all loved. It feels familiar, much more like the Taylor we know from her past two albums, paired with edgy lyrics that marry it with the rest of her new album. Making for the perfect transition track from 1989 to Reputation.
Whether you have loved her new music, or miss her old stuff I’m sure you will enjoy this release. And if you haven’t already, check out the lyric video linked below.
