Andrew Wrigglesworth is a guitarist from Melbourne. His main focus is being a part of a duo with his wife called The Weeping Willows.
Over the years, the couple has toured constantly (both here and overseas) and have racked up a pile various nominations, reviews, and critical acclaim.

Who better to ask their opinion on Aussie guitarists then a Country Music Awards Nominee?
Check out Andrew’s top 5 Australian Guitarists, and started taking notes people…
.
Nick Charles VIC (Solo guitarist)
Nick is a one of a kind acoustic guitarist. He is a guitar player who can be flashy (when appropriate) and play as fast and accurate as any of the world-class fingerstyle players. The difference is that Nick understands and appreciates that a beautifully written song might only need 3 chords and the truth. His maturity and musical knowledge are like nothing I’ve ever seen before.

.
Danny Widdicombe QLD (Solo Artist, Bernard Fanning, Tim Rogers, The Wilson Pickers)
I first became aware of Danny’s playing after hearing The Wilson Pickers play live many years ago. Danny has such a distinctive sound (mixtures of country, jazz, rock, folk) that you know immediately it’s him, no matter what style of guitar he is playing or what band he is playing in. He is also one of the most sensitive slide guitar players in the country.
.
.
.
Bill Chambers NSW (Solo Artist, Kasey Chambers band)
Bill’s is another ‘annoying’ guitarist that can play a variety of instruments (lap steel, dobro, mandolin etc, etc) and has played on thousands of country records in Australia. The standout ability to me that Bill’s playing has is his groove and feel is untouchable. Bill’s swampy, gritty guitar playing will have you at the edge of your seat, wanting more and more.

.
.
Michael Fix QLD (Solo Guitarist, producer)
I’ve followed Michael’s career for many years (since I was 16) and I think I officially own all of his records. To sit in a room and hear Michael play just acoustically is one of the most magical experiences I’ve ever had. He has the best tone, touch, and sensitivity of anyone in the business.
.

.
The next artist mentioned was hard to track down…But, never fear, I found a link to his music via Myspace here! And this guy should definitely make his music easier to find, sooo good!
.
Damian Cafarella VIC (Session player, Lachlan Bryan and The Wildes, producer)
Damian is one of the most ‘underrated’ guitar players I know. As a producer, he can hear a song and in one take have a complete guitar part mapped out, perfected and recorded. As a live guitar player, he can dial up any tone appropriate to the style he is playing. The most outstanding part of his guitar playing is Damian always ‘listens’ and knows when to play and when to breathe and let the music flow.
.
I am not going to lie, that is probably one of my favourite Top 5 listicles I have had yet, thanks for taking the time to give us a list of talented guitarists. Good luck with your performance at the The Melbourne Guitar Show in August!
