Project Description
Twenty One Pilots wowed and amazed all in attendance at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on March 29, 2017, much to Adelaide’s (and my) delight.
Supported by Canberra natives, electronica indie pop band SAFIA, the night literally went off with a bang. Full of energy and a unique sound, SAFIA put on a great show and the sold out entertainment centre loved every moment of it.
After much anticipation, Twenty One Pilots exploded onto the stage with fan favourite ‘Heavy Dirty Soul’, proving from the start what amazing showmen they really are. Dressed in matching suits along with their famous black balaclavas, singer Tyler Joseph and drummer Josh Dun barely took a moment to breathe, launching straight into an older hit, ‘Migraine’, quickly followed by the high energy ‘Hometown’ (including a pretty amazing magic trick…I won’t post any spoilers though).
What followed was a night of pure exhilaration, with the band mixing both the old and the new, along with a couple of special extras; Tyler’s famous, beautiful, and very popular cover of Elvis’ ‘Can’t help falling in love’ and (my personal favourite) their haunting rendition of My Chemical Romance’s ‘Cancer’.

Wowing the audience with their performances of supremely popular recent hits Heathens, Lane Boy and Tear in my heart (dedicated to Tyler’s wife Jenna as they were celebrating their second wedding anniversary, congrats guys!). It’s obvious Tyler and Josh adore their fans and absolutely love what they do.
Highlights of the night included many fan favourites and a few new things; Josh’s highly anticipated (and always loved) incredible backflip off Tyler’s piano, both Tyler and Josh’s performances literally held up by fans in the pit, Josh’s ‘drum-off’ with himself (it has to be seen to be believed…amazing!) along with Tyler’s ‘hamster ball’ run over the top of the crowd (also has to be seen to be believed!) and many more incredibly special moments.
Closing out the night with a beautiful message of love from both Josh and Tyler were the songs ‘Goner’, and (my all-time favourite Twenty One Pilots song), ‘Trees’. Starting out slowly and sedate, the entire arena sang in unison with Tyler; it was really something to behold. Things could only get better as the song built up to it’s incredible crescendo, with both band members being held up by the crowd as they played the beat of the song, along with bright red confetti exploding around them – very fitting ending to such an amazingly high energy show.
