Fans of rock’n’roll will find plenty to love about Brisbane’s Vibrations From The Void. The band’s consistent display of high voltage rock creates a sense of nostalgia for those who love traditional rock’n’roll and also establishes a refreshing new alternative for younger listeners. It’s easy to understand how the four-piece rock enthusiasts have filled bar rooms and have an upcoming sold out show after listening to their debut EP “God Damn!” With five extremely energetic and addictive tracks, the EP will have listeners on their feet from start to finish.
Opener “Down With The Light On” immediately grabs the listener with a hard clenched fist and doesn’t dare let go. The track establishes the high energy and catchy grooves that the band demonstrate so well. Thundering drums and electrifying guitar work create a high impact first impression that would usually be found in the middle of a song. Vocals come in full force, displaying an impressive range. A delicious solo gives the track more momentum and when “Down With The Light On” comes to an end, it’ll take listeners a few seconds to recover from the EP’s forceful introduction.
Fans will likely have already rocked out to “Coup de Grâce” and “Resurrect My Mojo,” which were released earlier as singles. The two tracks slow things down a little in comparison to the EP opener, though that’s not to say the energy has diminished. A catchy riff starts off “Coup de Grâce” with a more traditional rock’n’roll style of sound while vocal harmonising invites listeners to sing along. With such an effectively catchy chorus, it’s not hard to tell why Vibrations From The Void have found success in performing at bars. A bouncy riff introduces “Resurrect My Mojo,” accompanied by wailing, vigorous vocals. The track’s slower tempo allows for the band to showcase their ability at creating groove rock’n’roll. It’s a no brainer that “Resurrect My Mojo” will be a fan favourite to dance to.
“Blue Bird Yellow Moon” is the remaining previously unreleased track. The band switch it up by diving into the hard rock genre with melodic chords and strenuously passionate vocals. The track’s momentum continues to build throughout as it culminates with an explosive finish. Packed with an incredibly catchy chorus, “Blue Bird Yellow Moon” is one of the band’s strongest accomplishments and an EP high point.
“Margarita Maria” closes the EP with electrifying guitar and groovy bass riffs. Screeching vocals join the mix providing a sound reminiscent of Aussie hard rockers Jet. The result is a hard hitting, high adrenaline fuelled good time and a suitable closing track that establishes Vibrations From The Void as a rock’n’roll force of nature. Listeners are provided with another infectious guitar solo which serves as a testament to the band’s high energetic consistency. Once “Margarita Maria” draws to a close, listeners will need some time to absorb the high voltage rock’n’roll that they’ve been exposed to, but will no doubt be left hungry for more. With their debut EP “God Damn!” Vibrations From The Void succeed as the latest reminder that rock will never die, even if the band holds nostalgic familiarity as a priority over originality.

VIBRATIONS FROM THE VOID’S
new
GOD DAMN! EP
Out September 18
Vibrations From The Void are a Brisbane rock’n’roll band that fuses rock with even more rock with danceable grooves for an infectious good time. Hailing from the humid depths of the sunlight-soaked Brisbane, VFTV are set to release their debut EP, God Damn! on September 18th.
Recorded by Brock Weston (Bugs, Regular Band, The Jensens) live at Bedlam Records their debut EP is 5 tracks of high-octane, caffeine-fuelled riffery, featuring new single “Margarita Maria”, “Resurrect My Mojo” and fan favourite “Coup de Grâce” which features the sing-a-long chorus to end all sing-a-long choruses.
The band (featuring Ryan Murr, Brendan Dawe, Peter Green and John Larney) formed out of the desire to play loud, frenetic, fun rock’n’roll and the energy they project to the audience when playing is listed on WHO’s 10 Most Contagious Diseases. A toe-tappin’, head-boppin’, booty-shakin’ party is almost certainly guaranteed, unless, of course, you don’t have a pulse. While a lot of the influences are old-school classics, VFTV’s commitment to fucking ripping it up keeps the music sounding as fresh as ever, while some outsider influences keep the reins in check from just being “one-of-those” bands.
Consistently filling up bar rooms (even before covid), they are the self proclaimed ‘aural equivalent of a freight train mounted air-raid siren adorned with disco balls with thunderous drums, thick AF bass-lines, chunkier-than-thou guitar and melodic vocal wails’. With live music thrown into disarray in 2020, VFTV spent the downtime writing a bunch of new tunes, taking care of business (ie merch) and making video clips for the EP’s release.
After several shows around Brisbane, including a sold out show at Bearded Lady, Vibrations From The Void are playing a few select shows to celebrate the EP wherever they can to however many people can fit in a room.
