BRING ME THE HORIZON
“Drown”
Bring Me The Horizon were one of the first heavy band we ever really listened to and were a huge part of us genre shifting towards music that is now more predominantly reflected in our current song writing. Drown captured and showcased the raw and more emotional sounding feel that we have aim to achieve in our music.
THE PLOT IN YOU
“FEEL NOTHING”
The Plot In You is a band we stumbled upon through my brother not too long ago, the album Dispose and Feel Nothing in particular were huge influences on our current sound. The conviction in which Feel Nothing is sung, as well as the simple yet huge guitar & instruments is something we desired to replicate as we’ve always loved and strived for that bigger sound to our songs.
POLARIS
“All Of This Is Fleeting”
Polaris has quickly become one of our all time favourite bands as well as one of our biggest influences of late. The hooks and technical aspects are what drew us towards them the most. Their song All Of This Is Fleeting has it all, huge riffs, incredible vocals and hooks, and massive drums and bass as well as having the raw and emotional side to it that we strive to create.
KINGS OF LEON
“Pyro”
As well as all these heavier influences, Kings Of Leon have always played a big part in our song writing. The song Pyro has always been a favourite of ours, having a softer beginning and coming to a big end is always something we’ve loved in songs as well as the independent bass lines and massive drums. The emotion and passion in the song is also a major influence for us as we always want that emotional connection with people, Pyro hits with a feeling of longing deep sadness that everyone in some weird way likes to feel.
ARCHITECTS
“Gravity”
Architects were the first heavy band we really got into, Sam Carter’s voice was unlike anything we’d ever heard before, his range, skill and emotion are at another level and we instantly fell in love with them. Their song Gravity is one of our favourites from the riff to the blistering hooks, it breeds the same energy we hope to bring to our songs.
WATCHING WOLVES
Climactic new single
“LIKE LIGHTS”
channels personal tragedies

.
Sydney’s Watching Wolves new single “Like Lights” encompasses captivating story telling of life’s beauties and tragedies. The new single shows a delicate and raw side of the band, renowned for their fierce live performances and was unleashed into the world on April 24th.
The lead singer, Reid Brownhill explains “The song started out about not knowing your place in a sort of a ‘I work my whole life then I die so what’s the point’ mentality, but as things in our personal lives changed during the writing process it became more of a song about loss and a personal perspective of someone going through the loss of a loved one with an already negative/pessimistic outlook on life.”

.
Recorded by Ian Pritchett from the Beautiful Girls and produced by Luke Carra from Caravana Sun, “Like Lights” found itself transitioning into a climactic slow burn, differing from Watching Wolves’s usual crushingly faced paced, heavy hitting tracks like “Vitals’” & “Heart In A Hurricane”.
The band members, Reid Brownhill and Kyle Shelley have been creating music together since they were 12, before later finding their drummer Hayden Smith. The band all share hard rocking influences such as Northlane, Architects, Bring Me The Horizon and Nothing But Thieves. Already selling out Cronulla’s Brass Monkey and headlining the Low and Lofty’s stage at the Australian Music Week 2019, the band are destined to deliver ferocious performances once venues once again open their doors.
