Sour Diesel is the new track from British singer-songwriter, ZAYN. Released on July 19, the song comes from ZAYN’s highly anticipated sophomore album, coming soon via RCA Records. Sour Diesel follows a string of hit tracks released following ZAYN’s debut album MIND OF MINE, including the 4 x Platinum ARIA hit, Dusk Till Dawn (featuring Sia) and the ARIA Gold winning track, Let Me. Sour Diesel was co-written and produced by ZAYN, Rob Cavallo and Malay, who he collaborated with on MIND OF MINE. The song is accompanied by a music video narrated by ZAYN himself, who acts out the day in a life of a vigilante hero.

The four minute track is catchy and every bit infectious – giving off real grunge-rock vibes. The song opens with an all bass intro and the vocals of ZAYN; low and deep, almost talking the lyrics to open the narration to the story. It’s not long before we are given a raw, bass-led, guitar shredding melody full of grunt and soul to match the smooth vocals and captivating but cryptic lyrics that could be taken in more than one context.

I, for one, am enjoying the vast variety of songs ZAYN is creating and adding to his repertoire. Dusk Till Dawn, Let Me, Sour Diesel – all different for various reasons but all have that signature ZAYN spark that is magnified through his song writing and vocals. Bring on the new album!
