POWER makes it return this January with Sydney with electro-soul SAYAH and Clarissa Mei on the line-up – taking to the stage at The Vanguard on Wednesday, 20 January. The pair will perform in a special 2 session show following on from POWER: Volume 1 with Lupa J, Shahrae and Julia Lostrom – which took place in Melbourne the days before Australia announced full lockdown due to COVID-19.
Singer-songwriter SAYAH will headline the second concert series with her electro-soul flavours and self-confessional lyrics. Her dark, lush vocals are reminiscent of Amy Winehouse and yet her production is more contemporary electro-pop. Her debut single ‘Addicts’ quickly shot to #1 on the Triple J Unearthed Pop Chart within days of being uploaded. Since then, she has played to a growing audience of converts around Sydney, including opening for Triple J darling Ruel and as feature vocalist in Set Mo‘s live touring show as well as Cosmo’s Midnight Opera House Show.
The POWER concert series is about showcasing the talented womxn, gnc, trans and agender who are making a change in this world with their music. With a focus on collaborating with artists to put together a musically diverse line-up, this concert series will have you feeling inspired, strong, fierce and powerful.
Curated by Sydney local, Brock Galway (Artist Manager & Promoter of GenMusic) – POWER was his way of celebrating and empowering all the up-and-coming artist and people in music who have inspired him and who are making waves with their raw talent.
“Growing up, I’ve been surrounded by a lot strong womxn, gnc, trans and agender people in music who all empowered me, taught me so many values and helped shape the person I am today. I would spend hours listening to their music and feeling every moving beat pulsate through my veins” – Brock explains.
“I would watch their love and dedication to their music and own personal values, beliefs and compassion – the ones that would make a positive impact on the community and for other artist in the music industry. For me, the POWER concert series in my way of showcasing the incredible people and talent with a wider audience and hoping it’ll inspire others” – Brock adds.
Proceeds from each ticket and concert will be collected and donated to charities supporting womxn, gnc, trans and agender through areas of education, health and support service initiatives. With funds raised from POWER: Volume 2 supporting Women’s Community Shelters – an organisation that works with communities to establish new shelters, which provide short term emergency accommodation and support in a safe environment that enables homeless women to rebuild self-esteem and achieve control and fulfilment of their lives.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
