Fresh from a much talked about set at Splendour In the Grass where she caught the attention of none other than headliners Tyler, the Creator and Jack Harlow, acclaimed producer-singer-songwriter PRICIE delivers another uniquely powerful anthem ‘BIG GIRLS’, reminding people of all genders, and ages, to first and foremost show up for themselves. After serenading us in Edo, PRICIE’s native Nigerian dialect, and blasting us with some trumpets made in the frequency of love, ‘BIG GIRLS’ is further fuelled by an infectious dancehall/afrobeat that instantly transports you to island time. PRICIE gets straight to it,  and the message is as simple as the beat is mesmerising; “you know I can’t stand – dancing on my own – big girls need some lovin too.”

Sharing the headspace she was in whilst penning the new single, PRICIE shares, “’BIG GIRLS’ is the song I wrote after a frustrating session of lockdown and binge eating as well binge watching everyone’s favourite show Euphoria. The song was written from the perspective of the character Kat with a touch of my own personal feels and realisations.

There was an episode where Kat didn’t feel she deserved love or the type of attention her other “sexier” friends garnered without identifying as another entity. I felt deeply connected to that as I have struggled all my life like most with some or most forms of an eating disorder, I wrote it because I felt people like Kat and myself deserve to show up as ourselves and stand in the big girl power. As we are.”
