Adelaide indie/rock outfit Purée have unveiled their highly anticipated sophomore EP What Happens Now?. Lead singer Matt Holland talks through the process behind the EP, “‘What Happens Now?’ Is almost like a big red marker on the Purée timeline, a turning point or a shift in the matrix.
It’s a collection of songs that signify some big changes for us as a band, and also as individuals. Throughout the last few years we’ve each experienced some pretty brutal life events and this EP is a reflection of everything we’ve been through together, and alone. To be honest, it kind of feels like a therapy session in a way. Processing things that have happened, learning new things about life, each other and ourselves, and ultimately looking forward to whatever happens next. This EP means the world to us, and feels like our most honest work.”
Featuring recent releases “Someone You’d Like”, “GO” and “Inspired To Do Nothing”, What Happens Now? introduces us to three brand new tracks including focus track “A4”.
The perfect house-party dancefloor anthem, “Maybe It’s You” moves with an addictive sense of youthful energy. Driven by punchy, hard-hitting drums and a sharp electric guitar riff, focus track “A4” cuts through with a gritty edge. “Better” opens with a stripped back acoustic sound before exploding into a heavy-hitting and cathartic chorus, serving as the perfect close to the EP.
What Happens Now? captures the band emerging from a period of hardship with a newfound sense of resilience and self-assurance. Introducing fans to the most candid and authentic version of Purée to date, the EP is a powerful snapshot of the band on the cusp of a new era.
In support of the EP, Purée will embark on a national tour in early 2026, heading up Jive in Adelaide, The Retreat in Melbourne, Oxford Art Factory Gallery Bar in Sydney and Brisbane’s Blues Bar where fans will experience their new tunes in live form.
A tight bond between friends, Purée is made up of members Matt, Jack, Liam and Mackenzie. Generating a wave of buzz with their jangly indie rock pop anthems, Purée have quickly become one of Australia’s most in-demand bands. Deemed “the next big indie band to break out of Australia” by triple j’s Drive host Abby Butler after the release of their single “GO”, the rise of the Adelaide four-piece is on the up. From supporting the likes of Old Mervs, Beddy Rays, Dear Seattle, Dice and loads more, to performing at SPIN OFF Festival, the band have become a powerhouse name across national line-ups, going on to share stages with huge names like Girl In Red, Conan Gray, G Flip and The Last Dinner Party. Recently touring with Brisbane band Bean Magazine and opening for the iconic Rob Thomas in Adelaide, Purée are turning the heads of industry and fans alike.
What Happens Now? is available now wherever you consume stellar tunes.

AMNPLIFY – DB

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
