There’s never been a better time to travel to the heart of the sunshine state with Sweet Relief!, Brisbane Festival and BIGSOUND all gearing to set the tone for an unforgettable experience, and bringing the best and diverse music from around the world to Brisbane this spring.
A small glimpse into what will be surfacing in the jam-packed month is the music program from one of Australia’s leading international arts festivals, Brisbane Festival, which will take place throughout September. The Brisbane Music Trail will also include BIGSOUND from September 5-8, now in its 22nd year BIGSOUND is your annual opportunity to discover the future of Australian music as 140+ bands play across three huge nights in Brisbane’s iconic Fortitude Valley. Finally, the recently announced Sweet Relief! music festival will be making its debut at Brisbane’s Maritime Green, Northshore on Saturday, September 16 — bringing dancefloor legends Groove Armada, The Avalanches, Cut Copy and more to the sunshine state for a unique, one-day party.

Brisbane Music Trail is the much-awaited Brisbane debut for Qld Music Trails, which is part of the Towards Tourism 2032 roadmap for building new experiences for visitors to discover more of Queensland. A musical Route 66 of Queensland, Qld Music Trails provides unique ways to explore the sunny state one incredible music event after the other. Marking the next iteration of the music event series, Brisbane Music Trail is giving Brisbane the spotlight and reinforcing Brisbane’s reputation for delivering outstanding live music events, ahead of celebrating Queensland arts and culture on the global stage at the Brisbane 2023 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
CEO & Creative Director of Queensland Music Trails, Joel Edmondson, states: “Brisbane’s music community has a long and proud history of working together to achieve amazing things. This story can be told in words, but it is best experienced through the unique events and venues we have that can’t be replicated anywhere else. The Brisbane Music Trail is a long-term initiative to bring our strongest homegrown experiences under one banner so that September becomes the month that Brisbane owns live music in Australia.”
Artistic Director of Brisbane Festival, Louise Bezzina said “This September, the Brisbane Festival music program will welcome a multitude of musical genres, featuring local, national, and international acts who will perform in some of the most iconic venues and more than 23 suburbs across Brisbane. Residents and visitors to City will be spoilt for choice this year as they are serenaded in the streets of their own community or whether they chose to venture into one of the precincts, the program has something for everyone. “

Speaking to Brisbane Music Trail, Kris Stewart from QMusic said: “ Each year BIGSOUND welcomes thousands of interstate and international music lovers to Brisbane to discover the future of Australian music. Of course, at the heart of BIGSOUND is Brisbane’s iconic Fortitude Valley. An entertainment precinct like no other, it homes an expansive network of music venues. We invite people to come explore a mammoth run of performances from some of the country’s best up and coming artists in a very unique part of the city. It’s a heap of fun – once you’ve been, you’ll want to come back year on year!”

AMNPLIFY – ML
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
