The Bellarine Peninsula will be rocking to the sounds of music again this summer as Queenscliff Music Festival announces plans for November 2021.

“We’re doing our absolute best to make QMF 2021 a reality” says Andrew Orvis (Festival Director). “We’re committed to doing everything we can in order to support our local community, and the Music/Arts/Events industries who are all struggling so much right now, and announcing our lineup today is the first step”.

“We still need a few things to go right over the next few months, like the National Vaccination program, but we’re taking steps toward making a 2021 Festival dream a reality”.

This year’s Festival will operate with a heavily reduced capacity, and with carry over tickets from 2020 tickets are already sitting at 65% sold.

With the focus on our plethora of incredible homegrown talent the first line up announce features a veritable who’s who of  Aussie music icons including Archie Roach, Ausecuma Beats, Banjo Lucia, Beans, Ben Mastwyk & His Millions, Bluey Live Experience, Bones and Jones, Brian Cadd, Bumpy, Cat and Clint, Client Liaison, Didirri, Electric Fields, Emma Donovan & The Putbacks, Felicity Urquhart & Josh Cunningham, Folk Bitch Trio, Gordon Koang, Jess Ribeiro, John Butler, Julia Stone, Kee’Ahn, Little Quirks, Mama Kin Spender, Maple Glider, Mark Seymour & The Undertow, Martha Marlow, Pierce Brothers, Rambal, Ryan Downey, Sam Teskey, Seeker Love Keeper, Steph Strings, Teeny Tiny Stevies, Telenova, The Bad Dad Orchestra, The Bamboos, The Dreggs, The Seven Ups, The Stetson Family, ThornBird (Vikki Thorn of The Waifs), Tuck Shop Ladies, William Crighton, Zoe Fox & The Rocket Clocks.

QMF is a weekend-long celebration of live music, family-friendly activities, craft beers and spirits, fine wines, locally sourced gourmet produce and more. The festival’s beach setting and picturesque locations attract music lovers from all over the country looking to soak up the laid back vibes and incredible eclectic mix of music on offer. ARCHIE ROACH

Australian singer-songwriter Archie Roach emerged in the early ’90s. His ARIA-winning debut album, Charcoal Lane, was named one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s Top 50 albums of 1992. It was centered around Roach’s heartbreaking song, “Took the Child Away,” a deeply affecting ballad about his own experience as one of the “Stolen Generations” of First Nations children who were often forcibly removed from their parents and communities and placed in non-indigenous institutions and homes. The song’s impact was immediate. It went on to receive a Human Rights Achievement Award, marking the first time that such an honor had been bestowed upon a songwriter and was added to the National Film and Sound Archive’s Sounds of Australia collection in 2013.

Julia Stone

Julia Stone

JULIA STONE

With Julia Stone’s new record comes the grit and glitter of the city, and all its attendant joys and dangers, romances and risks. No longer content to merely explore the wildernesses of folk and indie-rock, Sixty Summers, Stone’s third solo outing, finds the celebrated songwriter diving headfirst into the cosmopolitan, hedonistic world of late-night, moonlit pop. Dirt under foot is replaced with wet pavement and sticky dancefloors; blue skies are traded for red lights and red lips. A dazzling reintroduction to the beloved Stone, Sixty Summers presents that rarest of transformations: not a metamorphosis or cheap makeover, but a shedding of skin, a revealing. It is Stone at her truest, brightest self, a powerful and revered icon finally painting herself with her own brush and her own palette.

COVID UPDATE

Firstly, our thoughts go out to all those Australians in some form of Lockdown or restrictions at the moment. We hope that maybe our little Festival can be some light at the end of the COVID tunnel for everyone and something to look forward to.

We’re doing our absolute best to make QMF 2021 a reality. Our COVIDSafe Plan has been submitted to the Victorian State Government, and as soon as we can we’ll share the approved plan with you. It is our desire that this years QMF will be as close to ‘normal’ as we can make it, just with a reduced capacity and some new ‘COVID normal’ things in place. Expect more open spaces, more cleaning, more entry & exit lanes, QR Code check-ins etc etc.

An important step in the journey toward November has been realised today. We’re very excited to share our 2021 lineup with you. We’re extremely proud of this fine bunch of artists and we thank them for believing in us and committing to joining our little party in Queenscliff this November. It’s the largest 1st lineup announcement we’ve released in a long time, and it reflects an amazing and diverse bunch of AUSTRALIAN artists.

Our commitment to do everything we can to deliver QMF 2021 is as much about support for our organisation as it is to support the artists, crews, suppliers etc who have been so heavily impacted over the past 18 months, as well as importantly supporting our local community whom have struggled with decreased tourism to the area.

Please know that should we be unable to proceed with a Festival this year you’ll be offered to either transfer your ticket to a postponed QMF, or to receive a refund. Your support in purchasing a ticket to this years event means the world to us, and our struggling arts & events industries.

There are a very limited number of tickets remaining for this years Festival. Early Bird ticket prices will finish Aug 5th at 11:59pm. So we would encourage you to jump online and buy your tickets before prices increase, and tickets sell out!

We look forward to seeing you all in Queenscliff this November.

Love,
QMF xo
