Australian country-pop artist Rachael Fahim enters the new year announcing her debut album ‘Who You Are’ will be released on Friday May 1st (out on Island Records Australia). Opening the album and available to pre-order from today, is the new single ‘Never Coming Back’.
‘Who You Are’ is a collection of ten sing-it-out-loud raw and honest tracks written between Nashville, Los Angeles and Sydney. Included on the album are her Country Radio hit singles, ‘Dance Around It’, ‘Good Luck’, ‘Who You Are’ and the #1 Australian Country Airplay hit ‘Too Damn Hot’.
Rachael will be performing new songs from her forthcoming album at Tamworth Country Music Festival for a string of headline shows and appearances before heading out on the road in March with US superstar Jordan Davis.
As the album opener, ‘Never Coming Back’ is Rachael Fahim’s “emotional whiplash’, her “realisation song”. “It’s about that moment when you realise you aren’t heartbroken anymore. It captures the power shift when self-respect kicks in, the late-night calls stop working, and closure comes (with a side of sass of course hehe). It’s defiant, healed and rooted in the clarity that sometimes the best comeback is no comeback at all – it’s just leaving,” Rachael says.
The country-pop leaning ‘Who You Are’ chronicles an intense past relationship that rolled from 18 months of all-consuming bliss to intense confusion and protracted heartbreak. Written about the ups and downs of life, love and relationships, ‘Who You Are’ was penned straight from Rachael’s real life, with her trademark themes of vulnerability and empowerment, and her rich velvety vocals, quirky resonate lyrics and catchy melodies.
Rachael closed out 2025 becoming the only Australian female artist to achieve #1 on the Australian Country Radio Chart and the second Australian artist to achieve #1 with ‘Too Damn Hot’. The single became her sixth #1 country radio single being embraced by country and pop radio cementing Rachael Fahim as one of the most exciting, accessible voices in country-pop music right now.
