ANNOUNCING: Archie Roach & Tiddas and Briggs & the Bad Apples Crew will descend on the capital for a celebration of Black Excellence on the eve of the inaugural Reconciliation Day.
From 2018 the ACT will observe a public holiday honouring the anniversary of the 1967 Referendum.
“Reconciliation Australia is proud to partner with the Canberra Theatre Centre for the inaugural Reconciliation Day Eve concert, which will launch National Reconciliation Week (NRW) 2018, and mark the first Reconciliation Day public holiday in the country. This is an important day not only for Canberrans, but for reconciliation in Australia.” – Karen Mundine, CEO Reconciliation Australia

Iconic Australian singer-songwriter, Archie Roach will take the Playhouse stage from 8pm, with crowd favourites Tiddas bringing their sublime and bold vocal harmonies to the mix.
Audiences will be treated to favourites, including A Child Was Born Here, Dancing Shoes and Dancing With My Spirit, capturing Archie’s voice at its best and affirming the contention that he is one of the best 30 voices in the world.
“I am always glad to be a part of an event where reconciliation is the focus. I am for reconciliation! For me it is about acknowledging all of our history; the good and the bad. For true reconciliation it’s about coming together to recognise past injustices that affected our First Peoples so that we can move forward together. This Reconciliation Day Eve event is a wonderful opportunity to hear from some of our up and coming artists who will carry on the message of reconciliation.” – Archie Roach AM

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
