“RedHook at their heaviest?! And I am literally obsessed. Tapping into that power and Emmy sounds like a dark goddess. I love those ‘I’m angry’ attitude moments and that belter of an ending.” – ★★★★½

Eora/Sydney-based alt-rock force RedHook have just revealed a fiery, blood-soaked music video for ‘Off With Your Head’ – directed by Kim Quint (Northlane, Polaris).
The ominous video features lead singer Emmy Mack performing as she’s being burned alive at the stake, and the other members of RedHook being decapitated by an executioner.
Emmy explains the story behind the video: “We really wanted to bring this song to life with a glitchy, gory, spasmodic nightmare of a performance video that builds in intensity and horror til the very end. My character is burned alive at the stake in a symbolic visualisation of cancel culture gone wrong as a vicious Queen Of Hearts character calls for heads to roll, while all the members of RedHook are ultimately decapitated by an axeman at the climax of that chaotic double-time final chorus. I think the dark, haywire visuals really match the frenetic energy and dramatic intensity of the song. Shoutout to our director Kim Quint for expertly executing our vision and Guy Vears for the killer VFX. And for getting us shadow-banned from Instagram with all the gore.”
‘Off With Your Head’ follows on from previous singles ‘Soju’ ft. Sly Withers, ‘SAY’ and ‘Jabberwocky’, all of which have been added to high rotation on triple j, and will also feature on the forthcoming ‘Postcard From A Living Hell’ LP, which is available for pre-order HERE.
To support the release of their debut record, RedHook will embark on their biggest national headline tour yet, presented by triple j. The band will be visiting fans across 11 regional and metro stages in Jinibara/Maroochydore, Meanjin/Brisbane, Jellurgal/Burleigh Heads, Goomburrup/Bunbury, Boorloo/Perth, Tandanya/Adelaide, Ngunnawal/Canberra, Naarm/Melbourne, Dharawal/Wollongong, Mulubinba/Newcastle and Eora/Sydney this April and May, with support from Bad/Love, Belle Haven and Grenade Jumper. Tickets available HERE.
They will also be joining The World Is A Vampire Tour, supporting alternative rock pioneers The Smashing Pumpkins across the country, alongside Jane’s Addiction and Amyl and The Sniffers.
Since its release, ‘Off With Your Head’ has seen immense support from the likes of Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, triple j, triple j Unearthed, NME, Hysteria Magazine, Kill Your Stereo, MANIACS, Forte Magazine, HEAVY Mag, GC Live and The Soundcheck.
RedHook are gaining momentum from a meteoric 2022, which saw the band complete a 28-date regional Australian tour as main support for metalcore titans In Hearts Wake. They also made their celebrated return to Australia’s Good Things Festival, becoming the first band ever to grace the lineup twice, going from Eora/Sydney openers in 2018 to national Stage 5 headliners in 2022. The band also made their critically acclaimed debuts at Australia’s Groovin the Moo and UNIFY Gathering festivals, and two of the biggest heavy music festivals on the planet, Germany’s Rock am Ring and Rock im Park; a feat few Australian bands can claim.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
