RESERVOIR STOMP 2018
First Line Up Announcement….

The suburban music circuit in Victoria used to be a fertile training ground for generations of bands who cut their teeth in tough venues in front of enthusiastic audiences. Since then, things have changed. Most of the suburban night spots have closed or turned into TABs. And barely a guitar lick or a drum roll is heard beyond Melbourne’s inner-city limits. Today, the Reservoir Stomp is on a mission to bring the music back to where it belongs.
On Sunday 4 November the Reservoir Stomp will present a full day of the best local acts spanning rock, afro-beat, funk, hip-hop, country rock, soul, rebetika and disco over two fabulous stages at the Preston-Reservoir Bowls Club. Now in its third year, the Stomp is an event run by locals for locals….and anyone else that’s ever been too afraid to venture beyond Bell Street.
Here are some of the acts that are coming to rock Reservoir:
ADALITA
Headlining the Stomp is none other than modern Australian rock icon, Adalita. She’s best known as front woman for rock group, Magic Dirt, who have cemented their status as one of Australia’s best loved bands. Adalita has successfully been recording, producing and touring since 1988. She released her debut self-titled solo album in 2011 to rave reviews and supported Blondie and the Pretenders. Her second solo album All Day Venus blitzed the music scene in 2013, landing her in the Age Music Victoria award for Best Female. She’s currently working on her third solo album.
KUTCHA EDWARDS
Celebrated singer/songwriter and proud Mutti Mutti man, Kutcha’s deep rhythmic tones are that of a storyteller whose inspiring songs are heartfelt, evoking an ancient connection to Aboriginal culture. He’s produced four albums, staged two theatre productions and received a number of prestigious awards including the 2016 Melbourne Prize for Music.
SUGAR FED LEOPARDS
Described as ‘Saturday Night Fever meets Kath and Kim on acid,’ Sugar Fed Leopards are a blazing sextet conceived at the swooning nexus of classic pop, rock and disco. The Leopards have been breaking hearts and starting dancefloor fires for five years. They’ve released two LPs (feature albums on both RRR and PBS FM) and toured extensively across Australia and Europe.
