Riley Pearce has today released his brand-new EP ‘The Landing Songs’. Recorded in Byron Bay with acclaimed indie-folk producer Garrett Kato, the 4-track EP was written in the back of Riley’s beat-up van while on tour in Europe last year.

Lead single ‘Windmill’ has over 300,000 streams and Riley has just hit 30 million total Spotify streams. Second single ‘Free Coffee’ dropped earlier this week.

“The title “The Landing Songs” comes from my song Portugal where I use it in reference to a particular person in my life who calms me. I’m not afraid of flying but the descent is a part that does make me a little nervous. I have a playlist on my phone called The Landing Songs that I listen to for the final 20 minutes and its a collection of songs that calm me and in the case the plane does go down I at least die to songs I enjoy…. sounds way more morbid when I say it aloud,” says Riley.

With this inspiration, Riley woke at dawn to shoot the EP artwork with a row of vintage plane seats at Serpentine Airport.

On the theme of the EP, Riley says; “The 4 songs on the EP follow the process of accepting you have a problem, realising there’s things in your life you can’t control, finding the thing to smile about when things go wrong and finding something therapeutic in your life to keep you balanced.”

Riley hit’s the road this weekend in support of the release, with a unique 8-date national tour. Held in secret warehouses and creative spaces across the country, these intimate shows have limited tickets remaining.
