Los Angeles producer RL Grime announces his new album NOVA, slated for release July 27th via WEDIDIT Records. In celebration, he shares his intoxicating new single ‘Undo’ ft. Jeremih & Tory Lanez. It’s the first album from RL Grime in nearly four years, following his critically acclaimed and cult classic debut VOID. NOVA will feature artists including Miguel, Julia Michaels, Chief Keef, Ty Dolla $ign and Joji, and is available for pre-order now.
“NOVA came from obsessive ideation on growth, and on transition. The art, and stories, and the moments that inspired me through this record tend to explore this as well. The feeling of leaving behind what was, and of welcoming the foreign. Throughout the process I had this vision of a “nova”, or of a star no bigger than a person launching from earth into outer space and expanding endlessly until its light was all that we could see. That’s the feeling I get from these records, infinite light.” – RL GRIME
The announce comes at the heels of NOVA’s first single, ‘ I Wanna Know’ ft. Daya, which marks his first Top 10 US Dance Radio Record. The track has amassed over 15 million plays globally to date, and broke at 1# on iTunes Electronic in the US, Australia, and New Zealand. Led by Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Daya, the video, directed by Megan Park (Blackbear, Elohim) is a celebration of female empowerment.
Releasing instrumentals ‘Reims’ and ‘Era’, ‘I Wanna Know’ follows last year’s official single ‘Stay For It’ ft. Miguel. Showcasing RL’s new cinematic direction alongside Miguel’s ravishing vocals, the track has been streamed over 9 million times and reached #169 in triple j’s Hottest 200. The single was followed by his biggest Australian & NZ headline tour to date, selling out multiple venues across the country, including Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion.
