Rolling Loud, the biggest hip-hop festival in the world, has announced Melbourne-based Sophiegrophy, Southern-rapper Ski Mask the Slump God and Compton’s YG, complete the final bill for the inaugural Australian event on Sunday 27 January at Sydney Showgrounds.
With the trio of new acts rounding out the final line-up for 2019, the special one-day rap extravaganza will be the first time it’s taken place outside of the Northern Hemisphere and set to feature some of the biggest names in the industry.
Selling out in less than forty minutes last November, Rolling Loud’s arrival to Aussie shores has already been met with an extraordinary demand for bigger events later down the line. With a previously announced headline slot from Atlanta-local Future, and further sets from Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Tyga, Smokepurpp and Manu Crook$ all confirmed, the Sydney event is set to go down as one of the best to date.
Born in Nigeria and raised in neighbouring New Zealand, Sophiegrophy is currently taking the Australian by storm. Her independent debut mixtape PURPULARITY, landed her mainstream media attention and a string of performances and events across the country. Later releases and interest pushed Aussie rap pioneers, WVS, to take note and proceeded to sign her in 2017. A fierce attitude matched with an individual swag, Sophiegrophy has amassed a new wave of Aussie hip-hop fan and continues to shape what rap means on local shores.
Florida-native Ski Mask the Slump God burst onto the hip-hop scene back in 2017 with the release of songs “Catch Me Outside” and “Babywipe”, both of which are now certified gold. His first mixtape, “Beware the Book of Eli”, launched in May 2018 and topped out at No.50 on the Billboard 200 chart – later the same year his debut album “Stokeley” was released which peaked at No.6 on the same chart. Confessing that he sees no particular style of rap, Ski Mask follows influences through rock, classical and heavy metal.
Rounding out the final of the newly announced acts, West-coast rapper and songwriter, YG hails from Compton in California. Signing to Young Jeezy’s CTE World in 2013, YG delivered a string of singles with each delivering further interest and appeal for the rapper. In the lead up to his debut album “My Krazy Life” in 2014, “Who Do You Love?” featuring Drake built on his acclaim. A follow up album “Still Brazy” was released two years later to further critical acclaim. His third album “Stay Dangerous” was launched only last year.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
