After releasing previous singles “New Lows” and “Hunt Your Love Down” (which have a combined total of 300,000 streams), last month Royal and The Southern Echo temporarily put aside the sad singer-songwriter archetype for something new, something “Technicolour“:
“All the old tricks weren’t working. I think I had built up in my mind some expectations or confines of what Royal And The Southern Echo was meant to be. When Technicolour hit I remember sitting back and listening to it and just feeling like I’d found home again after a long time lost in space.”
After writing most of the EP while living in freezing Berlin and then returning to sunny Brisbane, and trying to find a sense of home in between the two, ‘Correspondence’ EP is about dealing with the reality to coming home to a place where everything and nothing had changed.
“When I look back through the songs I can pinpoint times and situations throughout that journey, the start and breakdown of relationships and also my mental state throughout the period. Sonically I can see the evolution of my songwriting and my opening up to embrace the classic thoughtful pop music that I’ve always always loved. I’ve been very fortunate to have some talented folks and friends play on this record and I’m pretty damn proud that it’s now finally out in the world.”
“Technicolour”, “New Lows” and “Hunt Your Love Down” all feature on Royal and The Southern Echo’s debut EP ‘Correspondence’ which is out now on all digital platforms.

From the brains of Brisbane songwriter Bryce Schneider, Royal And The Southern Echo began as a way to find some sunshine in a cold European winter abroad.
An unashamed fan of pop classics, Royal And The Southern Echo’s intimate, cinematic debut EP is a nod to the thoughtful song writing of Crowded House and Hall & Oates. It’s bold, bright and bittersweet with a narrative of conversation and observation running throughout.
He finds the fun in heartbreak, plunging his stories into a world of Miami Vice pink and blue soft lighting, always dressed in some version of his Sunday best. Taking the heartache on holiday to a place where we can all make light of bad decisions, strange situations and the absurdity of modern life and romance.
“Correspondence” EP is out now on all digital platforms.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
