With his debut solo single ‘Don’t Tell Me’ sitting on over 2 million Spotify streams and praised by none other than Sir Elton John during his Beats1 show last week, 14-year old singer/songwriter Ruel has officially become an artist on everyone’s radar. With an upcoming national support slot for Angus & Julia Stone this September, the young prodigy has just been announced to support Texas superstar Khalid this November. The ‘Young, Dumb & Broke’ singer will tour Australia for the very first time, in support of debut album American Dreams, which saw him land ‘Best New Artist’ at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. For those who can’t wait to Ruel live, fans can get a taste of what to expect from the incredible live rendition of John Legend track ‘Who Did That To You?‘, taken from his Youtube showcase series earlier this year.

A stunning and vulnerable portrayal of Ruel live in action, the video showcases the singer/songwriter’s commanding vocals. It’s not the first time he’s stepped in front of the camera to perform, earlier this year Ruel made history as the youngest ever feature artist to perform on triple j’s Like A Version. Along with super producer M-Phazes, their sublime cover of Jack Garratt’s hit ‘Weathered’ quickly gathered over half a million plays in less than 48 hours and is now one of the highest viewed of 2017.

Originally penned by Ruel at just 12 years old, ‘Don’t Tell Me’ has positioned him as one of the country’s most exciting new artists. Ruel‘s sophisticated lyrics glide effortlessly over M-Phazes stomping gospel production, making it little wonder why the Grammy winning producer, responsible for helping uncover artists such as Amy Shark, Meg Mac and Illy is backing Ruel to the hilt.

.

Discovered by M-Phazes when he was just 12 years old, after his father sent him a demo, not expecting to hear back – Ruel partnered with the multi award-winning Australian producer/songwriter on his single ‘Golden Years’ in April. In development for the past two years under the wing of the prolific producer, Ruel completed a support slot with alternative R&B artist Gallant earlier this year. Earning Apple Music’s ‘Artist Of The Month’ in August, Ruel‘s extraordinary story continues to build. With a debut EP executive produced by M-Phazes due later this year and a multitude of dates approaching, don’t miss out on experiencing this unique talent’s powerful live show.
