The enthralling third album from SAFIA, A Lover’s Guide To A Lucid Dream, is out today and features new single ‘Fall Right Back To You’.
When it came to putting this album together the band threw everything into it, going over and over ideas for songs that for some reason simply refused to take shape. After losing perspective – not just about what the next SAFIA record would look like, but even on what they loved about making music in the first place the band realised that the key to unlocking it all was simple: just letting go.
The result is an album that grapples with dreams and reality, the loss and reclamation of identity, which over the course of its 14 tracks moves from surreal night to the soft breaking of the day.
Written the day of a long-term relationship ending, the new single, ‘Fall Right Back To You’, is about not being able to let go of someone or something because of the fear of the unknown. With production that feels like a constant motion, as if you’re voyaging through space, the track joins the five already released singles, ‘Float’, ‘The Thing About Love’, ‘Today’, ‘Falling Down’ and the album title track.
The album will be supported by a national tour running from October until December. The highly anticipated nine-date tour will be the band’s first national headline run in four years and will see them supported by GOLD FANG and BIRDEE 王煒. This follows on from their appearance last weekend as part of the Singapore F1 Grand Prix entertainment line up alongside the likes of Post Malone and Rich Brian.
SAFIA made a return to the triple j Like A Version studios recently, delivering performances of their original track ‘Float’ and a cover of Dido’s iconic hit ‘White Flag’. It’s the third time the band have completed a Like A Version after covering alt-j in 2015 and Queens of the Stone Age in 2019.

SAFIA have always dreamed big. Since they formed in Canberra 2012 and broke out a year later with the hugely successful ‘Listen To Soul, Listen To Blues’, the trio of Ben Woolner (vocals/keys), Michael Bell (drums), and Harry Sayers (guitars/keys) have crafted music that stretches imaginations and traverses new sonic landscapes.
Their enthralling 2016 debut Internal and follow-up Story’s Start or End pushed them to huge commercial success. They’ve now amassed more than 200 million streams to their name alongside multiple ARIA Platinum and Gold singles, including for ‘Make Them Wheels Roll’, ‘Embracing Me’, and ‘Starlight’. Having earned a reputation as a phenomenal live act, they’ve graced the stages of some of the biggest global and homegrown festivals – including Groovin The Moo, Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival, and Beyond The Valley – and have sold out tours across the country. Ten years into their career, SAFIA refuse to stop climbing.

AMNPLIFY – ML
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
