Much-loved Australian outfit SAFIA are giving us the first taste of new music for 2018 with brand new single ‘Freakin’ Out‘. It comes on the eve of their return to the Mountain Sounds Festival stage on Saturday 17 February, and ahead of headlining the inaugural traveling surf festival The Drop.
‘Freakin’ Out’, which is released today, sees the band return to an anthemic, groove-heavy sound with a warped quirky tone.

The single follows on from ‘Cellophane Rainbow‘ which is sitting at over 1 million streams since its release at the end of 2017 and was the first piece of new music from the band since their acclaimed debut album Internal was released in 2016. Internal landed at #2 on the ARIA Album chart, #1 on the iTunes chart, received ARIA and J Award nominations and saw the band complete a sold-out run of national album shows
2017 saw them perform to capacity crowds on the Listen Out tour, a headline spot on the Yours and Owls line up and a slot on the inaugural OH YES festival amongst others. In addition to performing headline shows in the UK, US and Europe as well as appearing at The Great Escape and SXSW, the band have toured extensively in Australia including shows at Splendour in the Grass, Groovin The Moo, Falls Festival, Beyond the Valley, Field Day, Big Pineapple and Curve Ball.
Hear ‘Freakin’ Out’ when SAFIA perform it live around the country over the next few months.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
