With their intimate set of sold out East Coast tour dates behind them, today SAFIA reveal the multiverse video for current single ‘Starlight’. Collaborating once again with local VR/AR artist SUTU who worked on the animated ‘Starlight’ single artwork, the video incorporates the cover art’s captivating visuals*.
Says SAFIA; “At its heart ‘Starlight’ is a song about letting go, all the creative choices represent that sentiment so we wanted to create a video that continued on with that theme. For this reason, we wanted to make something that was world building and indicative of the song’s journey. Hopefully, this cosmic visual journey will encourage you to get lost in the world of ‘Starlight’. – SAFIA

The recently completed ‘Starlight’ tour featured fellow Canberran Genesis Owusu as main support on all dates and was SAFIA’s first headline tour since their sold out national album tour in 2016.
The band made their debut appearance in China at Shanghai’s Concrete & Grass Festival a few months back and they will be heading back there for their first ever headline tour this week.
SAFIA have also been on a raft of recent festival line ups including This That, The Grass is Greener, and a headline slot for Corona Sunsets, with Beyond the Valley and Origin Fields still to come. A firm festival favourite, always delivering “a winning festival set” (The Music), their recent Splendour performance saw them pack out the Mix Up stage and gather rave reviews from media and fans alike.
Released earlier in 2018, previous single ‘Freakin’ Out’ is now at over 2 million streams and also saw the release of a special acoustic version. ‘Cellophane Rainbow’ is sitting at over 3 million streams since its release at the end of 2017 and was the first piece of new music from the band since their acclaimed debut album Internal was released in 2016. Internal landed at #2 on the ARIA Album chart, #1 on the iTunes chart, received ARIA and J Award nominations and saw the band complete a sold-out run of national album shows. 2018 has seen them perform to capacity crowds on the inaugural The Drop Festival, and Mountain Sounds Festival.
