Bloom Festival is returning for its second year with Queensland Music Award Winning headliners Sahara Beck, Asha Jefferies, Ruby Gilbert, Xander Holmes and Tokyo Twilight. Bloom Festival is a multi-day, multi-venue, all ages event that will run from July 26th-July 28th in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.

Over the three days of fantastic festival fun, Brisbane’s finest artists will be playing at The Triffid, MIC, Phase 4, Winn Lane, Bakery Lane, California Lane and 4ZZZ car park.

Bloom Festival is a celebration and showcase of the achievements of Brisbane’s youth. The event is organised and run by a group of high school students from Fortitude Valley’s, Music Industry College. Students design and operate the festival with the help of industry professionals and sponsorship from the Brisbane City Council.

“Being part of the team for Bloom Festival helped me understand how much work is actually put into running a successful music event. The fact that it’s free makes me appreciate the people behind the scenes, who believe in working hard purely for the communities benefit,” said Music Industry College student, Charlotte Trevaskes.

“I can’t wait to play Bloom in support of the school that helped me find the courage to do what I do today. The fact that it will be all ages is so great, it’s important that young people get to attend shows that will inspire them. I know I am lucky to have seen all ages shows when I was a kid, if not maybe I wouldn’t even thought about becoming a musician.” – Sahara Beck

All ages gigs are in short supply in Brisbane and Bloom Festival is one way of introducing a younger audience to high profile artists in venues that are normally off limits. Having The Triffid on board for the second year in a row is a real coup for the young organisers.

“The Triffid has always placed a huge importance on giving all age fans a chance to see their favourite artist. We feel it’s important that the younger fans are given as many opportunities to connect with their favourite bands. It also opens up new audiences for the artists and the venues. Bloom Festival really is a win win situation.” – John Collins (The Triffid/Powderfinger)
