Salibu Macey is a three-piece mobile booty shaking service that concerns itself with the welfare of ankles, knees and hips of those inspired by indie-rock across the Adelaide metro area. Cranking up the Bunsen burner with their florid take on rock, the group has no intention of cleaning up their act and is set to shatter ligaments across any dance floor they can get their sticky little hands on.

As premiered by Wickedd Childd, Salibu Macey are proud to release their new single into the world. After turning plenty of heads with last year’s EP, ‘Wilpena St.‘, Salibu Macey’s new track ‘Bonnie‘, is out today via GD FRNDS.

Salibu Macey are masters at restraint and release. ‘Bonnie’ could be indie-rock’s most ferocious and slackadaisically tuneful tracks to arrive from the South Australian capital. The group’s reconciliation of interwinding guitars and parallel rock elements pays homage to their musical alchemy at work. ‘Bonnie’ is more or less a reunion of antiquated indie-rock tropes at their most refined and demonstrative.

As dissected by charismatic frontman James Catford, ‘Bonnie’ is an exaggerated placeholder of a love song.

“The character Bonnie and her role in the story of this song is merely a metaphor for the feeling you get when you meet someone that truly believe you can’t live without them,” explains Catford.

“It’s a jangly melancholy tune that dissects that thought process and its fabrication, evolving into welcomed realisations and, in turn, a sense of coming out the other side with a clear and open mind.”

‘Bonnie’ follows the group’s debut EP of November last year, ‘Wilpena St.’, which spawned three roaring singles, ‘Bones’, ‘Fall Out The Sky’ and ‘See Another Day’. In the meantime, they’ve been labelled by many Adelaide outlets as one of the region’s most energetic live bands.
