Going to Splendour and not exploring the myriad destination spaces dotted around North Byron Parklands is like going to Bondi and not ‘gramming a pic of Icebergs. You just don’t do it!

There’s much more to Splendour in the Grass than joy for your ears. It’s a visual feast, a wonderland of workshops, creativity and communal performance, and catnip for crafters.

All your favourite Splendour establishments will be back in 2018, four distinct and truly remarkable realms in which to immerse yourself. Grab your trusty fanny pack and get ready to explore…

GLOBAL VILLAGE

At the very heart of Splendour lies the Global Village, an exotic oasis of hot chai, yoga flows, dance floor vibrations and international sounds. Start your day in stillness with morning meditations, connect with the wisdom of our original custodians, get pampered by a massage therapist and top it off with a late-night jam session or a boogie in the silent disco.

THE WORLD STAGE will also be at full power, offering up a diverse array of genres and world music, including sets from Tijuana Cartel, Gambirra Mob, Bullhorn and many more. Check out the website for the full program.

Take 5 (or forever, it’s easy!) in the THE BOHEMIAN LOUNGE. An eclectic hideaway that’s home to amazing performances and a variety of interesting workshops. Think cabaret performances, circus extravaganzas and poetry jams by day and jazz journeys and African sounds by night.

TIPI FOREST

Continue your sensory expedition to the TIPI FOREST! This iconic late-night institution will play host to some of the sweetest sonic selectors and best beat droppers to call Northern NSW home.

Make friends and mingle in the tipis, or meet kindred spirits on the dance floor as you groove out to the likes of Tetrameth, Taya, Get Down, Mood Swing & Chevy Bass, 2Dogs (from the Resin Dogs), Mogazmk and U-Phoric. And as the sun sets and the bass begins to pump, take in a spectacle of visuals by Clint Hurrell, Spinner Sisters and VJ Just Chuck. SPLENDOUR IN THE CRAFT

Australia’s leading craft freedom fighters including legends like Beci Orpin and Kirsten Devitt (Each to Own) are back with hot glue guns blazing and an assortment of crazy cool workshops to keep you feeling sticky all weekend. Nan would be so proud! Whether you’re screen-printing your own tote with Art Park, jazzing up your jumpsuits with Fancy Free (Patience Hodgson and Rachel Burke) or getting lit making Night Lights with AMAC, SPLENDOUR IN THE CRAFT is the pom pom on top of the perfect Splendour weekend! And best of all, it’s all free!

Don’t forget to check out the Craft Bus, where we’ll be asking you to get uncomfortable with Stefan Hunt of We’re All Going To Die and face your fears between the bus seats! Fear stops people from embracing life. Fear of failure. Fear of rejection. Fear of the unknown. Here’s the thing though… 10 out of 10 of us are going to die. This revolutionary statistic flipped Stefan Hunt’s life upside down in 2015 during a dark chapter of anxiety. He started We’re All Going To Die to encourage young people to fear less and live more. BUSKERS STAGE

Back for the 7th consecutive year, Splendour’s BUSKERS STAGE is giving Byron’s local street musicians the chance to have a crack at the big time.  Nine buskers, who duked it out for their spot earlier this week, will be singing for their supper on the 2018 Busker Stage! Get your shiny coins ready for 12pm to 4pm daily.
