Today, Grammy-nominated groundbreaking alternative R&B artist serpentwithfeet shares his brand new album GRIP, featuring new single ‘Ellipsis (feat. Orion Sun)’, out now digitally and Friday 29th March for the physical release via Secretly Canadian. Arriving merely days from GRIP, ‘Ellipsis’, produced by ThankGod4Cody (SZA, Jay Rock, Chlöe), serves as a moving collaboration with beloved singer, songwriter and producer Orion Sun that embodies the essential essence of GRIP, revealing the incredible intimacy and vulnerability that permeates through a physical connection. Here, serpent captures the deeply palpable feeling of longing for a lover and the inner battle of expressing those feelings.
Introducing a new era for serpent personally and sonically, GRIP is a striking body of work that is brimming with poise and tenacity in a fully realised form proving to be his best work to date. GRIP explores the profound depths of intimacy between a romantic partner. It also celebrates and fosters the spirit and magic of Black queer nightlife while also honoring the communities that are nurtured within the walls of these intimate spaces and the monumental impact that they have on the lives of many people on the margins.

serpent’s hugely celebrated return confirms his rightful place as one of music’s most compelling artists today who has long been pushing the boundaries with his art and has come to be revered by the likes of Björk, Moby, Baby Keem, and many more
The release follows serpent’s explosive debut theatrical run with his critically acclaimed production, Heart of Brick. The dance theater production chronicles a moving love story within a Black gay club that features a one-of-kind performance by a cast of extraordinary dancers and music from serpent’s GRIP. Heart of Brick was created by serpent, co-written by award winning poet Donte Collins, directed by multimedia artist Wu Tsang, choreographed by dance-theater artist Raja Feather Kelly and produced by The Joyce Theater Foundation.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
