‘Bored’ expresses the familiarity and same old that relationships can fall into. Heather (singer/songwriter) states ‘This song for me expresses how relationships that aren’t evolving can make six months feel like six years.’ Crammed with Inspiration from late 90’s-early 2000’s anthemic rock, this single showcases Sesame Girl’s ability to pull on the emotional strings of their audience.
To accompany ‘Bored’ is a wild ‘Mad Max’ themed music video directed by Jamison Kerr. Provoking themes of damage and chaos, Heather expands on the idea, ‘It’s liberating to be dirty and act crazy in a video, we’re stoked for everyone to see.’

“Bored” is Sesame Girl’s third offering from the EP set to be released later this year (produced by Fletcher Matthews). With an upcoming appearance at Spilt Milk and a run of headline shows later in the year, the band has their sights set on making the rest of this year a big one.
With their world-class single ‘Bored’ now released, Sesame Girl have firmly planted themselves in the hearts of their listeners, and in the category of Australian rock bands to watch.
‘Bored’ is now available on all platforms.

Bonded through heartfelt music and somber themes, Canberra-based Indie-pop act Sesame Girl, have been climbing the ranks to be crowned Canberra’s next national act. A project by Heather Duncan, Sesame Girl began playing shows in early 2020. Wasting no time at all, they’ve been steadily gaining traction along the east coast supporting the likes of DZ Deathrays, Spacey Jane and Moaning Lisa within a matter of months. Additionally, Sesame Girl are fresh off an east coast tour with Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, and are selling out Multiple shows of their own.
Sesame Girl released their debut single “Get Up” in 2021, hitting the scene for the first time with an enthusiastic response. Coming from a DIY background of bedroom pop, the bands recent studio endeavour is their single ‘Bored’, accompanied by a ‘Mad Max’ desert track themed music video. Sesame Girl, with an upcoming EP produced by Fletcher Matthews (Dear Seattle, STUMPS, Sweater Curse, CLEWS), will expand on their previous work, further emphasising the solidity of the band.
Sesame Girl define their influence as both 90s and 80s alt-rock, with contemporary acts such as Beach House, Clairo and Soccer Mommy. Combining this with the band’s theme of heartache, energetic riffs, and dreamy vocals, they are sure to be established amongst the greats.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
