With the weather warming up, the hustle of the end of year-race sets upon us. Inching closer to the festive season, this time of year has a way of catching up with us and wearing us down. Siesta Sessions, held 2pm-6pm on Sunday November 25th, is a charity benefit held at The Penny Black for Headspace. Headspace is a mental health organisation who assist in supporting youth aged 12-25, providing them with access to a range of vital wellbeing services. As 2018 draws to a close, Siesta Sessions promises relaxed vibes, good company and dynamic acoustic acts, all rallying together in support of a foundation who has made an enormous positive impact in the 11 years since its formation. Setting the tone for the day are the guys from Wildcraft, Catholic Guilt, Jess Porter, and members of Mild Manic.

“Mild Manic are a 4 piece punk/rock band from Melbourne, Australia. After the release of their debut self-titled EP in 2015 and sophomore EP (Line & Length) in 2017, these four maniacs are ready to kick things up another gear in 2018. The band rounded out the final few months of 2017 with a residency at The Tote, a sold-out Northcote Social Club show supporting Dear Seattle and a sold-out No Worries Festival in Moruya, NSW. With the new-music-ball already rolling and the band’s first run of tour dates for the year being finalised, it’s exciting to picture where this band could be in 12 months’ time. Mild Manic is brothers Chris & Sam Rees on guitars, Dave Boyes on bass and Jye Flynn on drums who each bring their own influences, blending them together to create catchy, punk rock bangers.”
Lead of Mild Manic, Sam Rees will be gracing the stage at Siesta Sessions, bringing all the great acoustics that Mild Manic’s creations have to offer.

” Existing in quiet since 2013, Wildcraft is the folk and country Moniker of Cailan Smith (Drama/Old Sugar). Cailan has been producing records at home whenever given the opportunity and playing shows as often as possible since 2012. After a few various 7″ releases in 2014 (now sold out) ‘A White Horse Followed Me Home’ is the latest farm emo full length album comprising of songs written, demoed, tracked and sporadically touched for five years until an epilepsy diagnosis and a bout of seizures allowed the time to piece this together with new songs and recordings. “

“Formed in Melbourne in 2016, Catholic Guilt are best mates Brenton Harris and Bryce Novotny. Catholic Guilt write raw, emotional and disarmingly honest music for the internally conflicted masses, blending elements of folk, punk, rock and alt-country to create an unashamedly vulnerable, yet ultimately uplifting and cathartic listening experience. Having shared stages with artists the ilk of The Ramshackle Army, The Bottlers, Luke Seymoup, Fox ‘n’ Firkin, The Suicide Tuesdays, Billy Punton, Semen and Garfuckle, Phil Wolfendale, Luke Warm Iced Tea and Operation Ibis, Catholic Guilt are road-tested and ready to convert the masses. through 2018 with a debut EP titled Hymnbook Volume 1 dropping in early April, extensive touring plans, (with a full backing band added for appropriate dates) let their honest music into your ears and they’ll make believers out of your soul”

“After years gigging in Australia and abroad with numerous bands, Jess Porter is branching out into solo territory with a head-turning live show and eclectic studio releases. His commanding stage presence invites audiences in and floors them by the end of a show. SEPTEMBER SUN EP out 15/10/14″
