What’s new, smooth as silk on the ears, and features two stars of R&B? BILLBOARD
The Seventies-soul-indebted ballad [“Leave The Door Open”] is extravagant, soft, slightly woozy, and just the right amount of winningly, winkingly ridiculous. ROLLING STONE
Both the song and the arrangement are pitch-perfect, with swooning strings, honeyed backing vocals and even a glockenspiel — think Delfonics, the Chi-Lites and basically everything on the Philadelphia International label. VARIETY
Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars are about to turn the world into their groupies. Their first single as duo Silk Sonic, “Leave the Door Open,” is a smooth bedroom classic that calls back to ’70s slow jams. VULTURE

Silk Sonic introduced the now ARIA Platinum “Leave The Door Open” alongside an official music video directed by Mars and Florent Déchard, which won Best R&B Video and Best Editing at the 2021 MTV Music Video Awards. The track was followed by a hugely popular social media campaign, #LetSilkSonicThrive, which earned them a debut live performance at the GRAMMY® Awards followed quickly by iconic live sets at the iHeartRadio Music Awards and the BET Awards. “Leave The Door Open” became Silk Sonic’s first #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100, spending two non-consecutive weeks at #1 and 18 consecutive weeks in the top 10. The duo then coasted into their sophomore release of “Skate,” which saw them glide into a second top 10 hit on Billboards Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs as it debuted at #4 and began as the genre’s best-selling song of the week. In the meantime, the pair was also heard singing about the award-winning spirit, SelvaRey Rum, in their infectious jingle released earlier this summer.
Additionally, Bruno Mars’ most recent album ‘24k Magic’ celebrates its fifth anniversary this month, the album having spawned the singles “Thats What I Like”, “Versace on the Floor”, “Finesse” and the album’s title track which have collectively garnered more than 16 x platinum accreditations in Australia alone.

About SILK SONIC
The seeds of the collaboration were planted in 2017 when Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars toured together on the European leg of his 24K Magic World Tour. One late-night jam session on the road unlocked immediate chemistry. Just before the world slipped into quarantine, Bruno called Anderson: “Remember that idea we had back in 2017? Let’s do it.” One studio session grew into to a months-long collaboration, culminating the “setlist of doom.” Legendary Bootsy Collins christened Silk Sonic and came in as the “special guest host” for An Evening With Silk Sonic, their debut album.
Silk Sonic was finally set free on March 5th, 2021. Within less than a month, their debut single “Leave The Door Open” cracked over 230 million streams, and currently sits at 1.2 billion streams with over 346 million official video views. It reeled in rave reviews, including Variety who noted it“could be a Best R&B Song GRAMMY winner from 1974.” After petitioning the GRAMMY Awards to #LetSilkSonicThrive, they made their debut performance with “Leave The Door Open” and served up a powerful tribute to Little Richard.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
