releases new solo music
‘ON THE STEREO’

Legendary Silverchair drummer Ben Gillies returns with his first solo music in two years, ‘On the Stereo’ – a delicious slice of synth-based pop with soaring vocals lamenting a time when the stereo ruled!
Having co-written chart-topping hits in Silverchair, including the iconic ‘Tomorrow’, it should come as no surprise that Ben has a real knack for melodies and vivid lyrics.

The track came to Ben in a burst of inspiration during a Newcastle writing session. Performing the majority of the instruments, Ben then enlisted celebrated producer Konstantin Kersting (Tones And I, The Jungle Giants, Spacey Jane) to add his magic.
“We all have experiences that we only need to think about to feel joy or a spark of excitement that can make us smile”, says Ben. “For me, it’s listening to music on the stereo. As a child I’d sit in front of the stereo, taking in whatever song was playing, and I kept doing it throughout my teens and into adulthood. We tend not to listen to music on the stereo anymore – it’s in our headphones, on our devices – but there is really nothing like that completely immersive experience of listening to music coming through speakers at home.
“‘On the Stereo’ is a song about listening to music that also, I hope, captures what a magical experience it is. It is one of those songs that appeared with minimal effort. It was such a fun process making this song and I think we captured just how much fun it is to listen to music … on the stereo!”

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
