2018 might be drawing to a close but there are no signs of it slowing down for Australia and New Zealand’s number one (officially) live promoter, Frontier Touring.
Nominated in the prestigious 2018 Billboard Live Music Awards ‘Top Promoters’ category against global behemoths Live Nation and AEG, Frontier Touring proves the adage that it’s not about your size.
Michael Gudinski, Managing Director of Frontier Touring said of the nomination; “Frontier has gone from strength to strength in recent years. Each year I tell our team that it can’t get any bigger than the last and then we smash it out of the park again.
“It is a massive achievement to see an independent Australasian promoter listed against the two largest players in the world.
“Kicking off 2018 with Ed’s record-breaking run of Australia and New Zealand was a standout moment for the company and I’m so incredibly proud that we’ve been involved in his career from the very beginning. Loyalty and passion are two things that define Frontier’s business model and Ed is the epitome of these traits.
“It’s fitting that 2018 wraps up with the Frontier/Illusive Presents co-promote of RnB Fridays Live 2018. Conceived by my son Matt, that event has just been getting bigger each year and it is fantastic to see the next generation upping the ante, with a massive stadium run headlined by Usher this year.”
The Billboard accolade joins Frontier’s recent nomination as ‘Entertainment Brand Of The Year’ in the 2018 Mumbrella Entertainment Marketing Awards.
Frontier Touring was ranked as the #6 promoter in the world and #1 Australasian promoter in the Pollstar 2018 Mid-Year Top 100 Promoters list. In the Billboard qualification period (Oct 1, 2017-Sep 30, 2018) Frontier has sold in excess of 2.61 million tickets across Australia and New Zealand.
More than one million of those ticket sales was directly attributable to Ed Sheeran who Frontier first brought to Australia in 2012 for a series of intimate theatre shows. On his fifth tour to Australia and New Zealand in 2018 Ed Sheeran smashed the Dire Straits’ long-standing record for the biggest ever tour by selling 1,006,387 tickets across a phenomenal eighteen stadium dates.
In the Billboard qualification period for ‘Promoter Of The Year’ Frontier toured the who’s who of the live industry, including Paul McCartney, Midnight Oil, Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran, Muse, Foo Fighters, The Script, Panic! At The Disco, Vance Joy, Celine Dion, Imagine Dragons and many more.
For the remainder of 2018 Frontier will be bringing a huge array of talent to Australia and New Zealand, including Sam Smith, Calum Scott, Mark Seymour & The Undertow, Dionne Warwick, King Princess, Charli XCX, The Rubens, RnB Fridays Live 2018, Channel Tres, Salt N Pepa, David Byrne, Richard Marx, Jim Jefferies, and everyone’s favourite Christmas event, Making Gravy.
2019 is already shaping up to be another huge one and will see tours from the likes of John Butler Trio & Missy Higgins, So Pop (the ultimate 90s music party), Eagles, Rodriguez, Lily Allen, Bryan Ferry, John Prine, Anne-Marie and Shawn Mendes…plus, a bunch more that are yet to be revealed!
Frontier Touring is part of Australia and New Zealand’s Mushroom Group, a proudly independent entertainment group that have collectively been enjoying one of their most successful years to date. Working with some of the biggest names through to the most exciting up and coming, Mushroom is a proud and passionate supporter of great music, both domestically and internationally.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
