‘Self Appointed Hipster Wannabe’

To say 2018 was huge for “Sketch Method” would be a massive understatement. The past 12 months have seen the Canberra punks develop a loyal following across the nation, Touring the east coast with Brisbane heavyweights Flangipanis, and playing festivals with the likes of Bodyjar, Jeff Rosenstock, and Hightime to name a few.
After releasing ‘Is It a Bird? Who Cares?’ in April, the band’s debut album has had radio play across Triple J, 4zzz, FBI and local stations all over Australia, seeing Sketch Method score slots with international touring bands Booze and Glory, and The Flatliners, as well as a bunch of local and interstate headline shows.
The lyrics focus on the personas we create for ourselves in an attempt to adapt to social pressure and anxiety, and how those personas merely serve to compound on those stresses.
The Film clip for ‘Self Appointed Hipster Wannabe’ is now premiering here, and the band will be taking it on the road in the early months of 2019 before hitting the studio once again to record a series of Split EP’s with Yoko Oh No, Idle Threat, and more to be announced in the coming months.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
