Australian alt favourites Slowly Slowly release their new album Race Car Blues –Chapter 2 today via UNFD.
Featuring adored singles ‘Comets & Zombies’, ‘The Level’ & ‘First Love ft. Yours Truly’, Chapter 2 comes to complete the Race Car Blues story almost a year to the day since the release of the original record in February 2020.
Slowly Slowly vocalist Ben Stewart shares how Chapter 2 particularly captures the heart of the band: “[It’s] always been the ultimate aim for the band to celebrate the music we love – anthemic heart on sleeve songwriting – but across a broad spectrum of genres. Having no creative ceiling for this project only pushed that ethos further.”
In the lead up to the album’s release Slowly Slowly primed fans with an intriguing spread of singles, sonic shake ups and stylistic choices. Stewart elaborates how this record ultimately served as the stepping stone between RCB 1 and where Slowly Slowly are headed next, saying: “Chapter 2 pushes the envelope a little further in every direction – heavier, more pop sensibility and a deeper dive into intimate solo songs.”
This unbridled approach is perhaps most evidenced in the band’s recent music video for ‘The Level’, an outstanding, 70s-soaked effort that completely transports viewers into Slowly Slowly’s unique world. Check it out below.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
