“Andrew De Silva owns that stage just as he owns every word he sings. De Silva owns that crowd too, playing up to them, giving them what they want, and summoning them to sing along”. SILVERTIGER MEDIA

Two of Melbourne’s 80’s music icons team up for the first time in more than 20 years! Boom Crash Opera and the Chantoozies unite for ONE SHOW ONLY for ‘Smash Hits Sunday’ at Richmond’s iconic Corner Hotel, Sunday 4th November, the perfect lead in to Melbourne Cup festivities!
.
.
Fresh off the back of the Rock Radio Riot tour with The Screaming Jets, Boom Crash Opera are in career best form! With (not-so) new singer Andrew De Silva igniting the crowds, alongside resident sound architect Peter “Bungie” Farnan (guitar/vocals), Peter “Maz” Maslen (drums/vocals) and John Favaro (bass), Boom Crash Opera continue to reinforce their incredible catalogue of songs and have lost none of their legendary live reputation. ‘Onion Skin’, ‘Dancing in The Storm’, ‘Great Wall’, ‘Hands Up In The Air’, ‘Get Out Of The House’, ‘The Best Thing’, ‘Gimme’, ‘Bettadaze’ and ‘Talk About It’ form a stunning setlist, their live incarnation proving just how powerful this band is in 2018.
The Chantoozies, featuring the gorgeous and immensely talented Ally Fowler, Tottie Goldsmith and Evie von Bibra, will compliment this Sunday afternoon double bill and bring their armory of hits – including ‘Witch Queen’ (Top 4 single in 1987), ‘Wanna Be Up’ (Top 6 single in 1988) and ‘Kiss N Tell’ (Top 30 single in 1988) amongst other popular tunes from the heady 80’s!
.
.
In recent years, The Chantoozies have performed alongside Leo Sayer, Mondo Rock, Uncanny X Men and Pseudo Echo, as well as Rick Astley and Bananarama on their recent Australian tours. Currently touring their Motown live show, the ladies are looking forward to revisiting their heady pop past in this cool retro afternoon show at The Corner. Watch them perform their irresistibly catchy songs live on Sunday November 4, before Cup fever kicks in.
