Woven into the fabric of Sydney’s historic nightlife scene, today Solotel announces the resurgence of an icon, the Abercrombie, set to officially reopen its doors on Friday, December 23 with a killer 36-hour party. Equipped with a 24-hour licence, the multi-level heritage-listed space has undergone an incredible transformation. It returns bigger and better with three venues all under one roof, establishing itself as Sydney’s new cultural hub.
A creative chameleon, the Abercrombie’s curated live music events strives to foster inclusivity, diversity, and community. The launch party will kick off a string of unmissable events programmed till the end of the year, starting on Friday December 23 at 5pm with a stacked line-up of some of Australia’s best tastemakers including Mike Who, Andy Garvey, Ayebatonye, and Dameeeela. The 36-hour party will lead into an extensive 7-day program from Boxing Day and will host the likes of House of Mince, Sweat It Out and Motorik! to name a few; a mix of trailblazer, grass root and established names on high rotation to see the year out.
The Abercombie has been designed to cater to an array of different music tastes across its three venues. On the ground floor is the Abercrombie’s incredible club, public bar, and beer garden; a space with a revolving door for non-stop parties. Complete with a world class Funktion-One sound system, it’s set to take full advantage of the venue’s rare 24-hour licence. A welcoming venue for all walks of life, in addition to the 36-hour party line-up, expect some of the best crews from across the nation to take over the stage including Purple Sneakers, Nomad Radio, Future Classic, Planet Trip and so many more.
For a more relaxed atmosphere, venture upstairs to Casa Rosa, a playful, late-night Italo-disco cocktail lounge and rooftop terrace with an eclectic mix of DJs on high rotation throughout the week. Don’t forget to head into the adjoining terraces and experience the new aperitivo wine bar and shop, Lil Sis, also open until the early hours.

Elliot Solomon, CEO of Solotel says: “There’s a strong sense of responsibility reopening the Abercrombie given that formative memories of generations of Sydney partiers, including myself, were forged here,” explains Solomon. “We’re ecstatic to welcome back some of the OG club crews like Purple Sneakers. We’re also very aware that there’s a generation of kids who haven’t been able to experience those heady clubbing days in Sydney, for various reasons. This new era for the Abercrombie is focused on helping to redefine the meaning of Sydney’s social scene as well as provide a platform for the next generation of party crews and clubbers to create their own culture-defining experiences.”
The NSW Government’s 24-Hour Economy Commissioner, Michael Rodrigues, adds: “The Abercrombie holds a special place in the story of Sydney’s nightlife. For those of us who remember it this announcement brings both nostalgia borne from its history, and excitement now as to its future. Its reinvention under the stewardship of Elliot Solomon and Solotel will be an inspiration for the creative community of Sydney – our next generation of designers, DJs, musicians, artists and fashion designers. And the multi-layered format will welcome different audiences through day and night for food, for drink and for culture.”
A true day through to late-night offering, the Abercrombie will open through to 5am on weekends and 24-hours for special events. From balmy rooftop day parties, to early morning raves, to arvo drinks at the wine bar, the three story venue boasts a number of unique spaces that will suit anyone seeking an all-round Sydney nightlife experience.
Head to the website for more information on the events set to take over the Abercrombie’s summer season. A cultural movement. A party destination. A historical icon. A local treasure.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
