In what has been an incredible night celebrating Australian Music, Sony Music Entertainment Australia have taken home an incredible 8 gongs at the 2017 ARIA Awards with Apple Music, held on Tuesday November 28th at the Event Centre at the Star in Sydney.
Gang of Youths scooped up a stunning 3 awards for their album, GO FARTHER IN LIGHTNESS for Best Group, Best Rock Album, Producer of the Year (handed out at the Artisan Awards last month) and the highly coveted Apple Music Album of The Year, the first time in 22 years that a Sony Music artist has won this award.
Amy Shark, who has had an amazing 12 months, took home both Breakthrough Artist and Best Pop Release for her NIGHT THINKER Ep.
In one of the hardest fought public votes, Peking Duk have walked away with the Apple Music Song of The Year for their stellar single, ‘Stranger’ (feat. Elliphant).

Currently touring Australia in support of his platinum selling debut #1 self-titled album, Harry Styles walked away with the Best International Artist award.
Daryl Braithwaite, who has just released his DAYS GO BY Greatest Hits album last Friday, was last night inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame. Braithwaite addressed the room with a moving speech stating how honored he was with this incredible recognition from his peers, and wowed the audience with an incredible performance of ‘The Horses’, where he was on joined on stage by special guests, Guy Sebastian and Vera Blue.
The 2017 ARIA Awards with Apple Music also saw outstanding performances on the night from Amy Shark and her hit ‘Adore’, Jessica Mauboy with her hit single ‘Fallin’ alongside label mates Peking Duk lighting up the stage with ‘Stranger’, whilst Gang Of Youths blew everyone away with their inimitable song, ‘What Can I Do If The Fire Goes Out?’ International award winner, Harry Styles cemented his place as one of the world’s hottest artists with a rollicking, high energy performance of his explosive new single, “Kiwi”.
