Illusive Presents are excited to announce the return of Crew Love ring-leaders, Soul Clap. The Boston-bred turned Brooklyn duo will be spinning tunes all over the country at Australia’s leading electronic music festivals including Days Like This Festival in Sydney, Perth’s Sets on the Beach, brand new Pitch Festival held in Victoria’s Grampians as well as Brisbane’s coveted club, Laruche.

News of the Australian shows follows the drop of their magical full length self-titled record – their first in four years. Infused with vintage funk and nu disco, tracks like Numb and ‘Shine – This Is It’, demonstrate the funky vision found only in the minds of Eli Goldstein and Charles Levine.

Soul Clap first cut their teeth in the 90s Boston rave scene, soon finding fame through a series of house edits and became household names through notable releases, such as their electric first album called EFUNK and their collaborative track with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, George Clinton aka Funkadelic. The collaboration saw the release of ‘In Da Kar’ featuring Sly Stone lifted from a four track EP of the same name.

The charm of Soul Clap’s live sets is not limited to the sound coming through the speakers. Eli Goldstein aka Bamboozle aka Elyte and Charles Levine aka Lonely C aka Cnyce’s varying stage personas add a whole other dimension to their performance. The duo showcase a perfect blend of sound and humour. Watch them perfectly synchronise lipstick application and the perfect fade at Sugar Mountain 2016 here.

A little over two weeks ago Soul Clap completed their third Boiler Room set at Wolf + Lamb’s elusive Marcy Hotel in Brooklyn. Watch the set which featured never before seen live instrumentation and some very special vocals here.

The perfect addition to any festival line-up the funky duo displayed a softer side on the second weekend of 2016’s Coachella festival, dedicated their entire set to Prince as a tribute following news of his passing. Listen to what the duo describe as ‘a truly humbling experience’ here.

Tickets are flying out the door for each of these festival’s, fans of Soul Clap are urged to get tickets to Soul Clap’s only Australian performances, kicking off next month.
