Perth’s powerhouse five-piece South Summit charge into their next chapter with ‘TOP OF THE HILL’, a soaring, feel-good anthem celebrating self-acceptance and the joy of being loved exactly as you are.

Recorded at Blackbird Studios and produced by David Parkin (Old Mervs, Great Gable, and Spacey Jane), the track is the first taste of new music since their acclaimed debut album The Bliss and sets the tone for a high-octane run into 2025’s festival season.
“‘TOP OF THE HILL’ is about being yourself and being loved for who you are. There’s always a place for you in this world,” the band share. “We stumbled across the chords the night of our album launch after a few backyard drinks with friends. Even though we’d just released The Bliss, we knew we had something special, so we kept the spark alive and picked it back up a few months later with Marlon from Six60 in Sydney — our first time writing with another artist. That fresh perspective took it somewhere new, and Parko brought it all together in the final recording.”
The accompanying music video, directed by Brendan Cecich, captures South Summit’s playful spirit in full flight – quite literally – as they hurl themselves down the steep slopes of the Kalamunda Hills in their own chaotic take on the famous cheese roll race. “We probably ran down that hill ten times, battering ourselves in the process, but it was worth it. Josh took the biggest stacks, Fynn drew blood, and the next day felt like we’d all played in a rugby final.”

With ‘TOP OF THE HILL’ setting the tone for a massive summer, the band join Tash Sultana’s long-awaited Australian headline run, then dive headfirst into Spilt Milk, sharing the bill with Kendrick Lamar, Doechii, and Dominic Fike – debuting fresh material primed to light up festival crowds.
South Summit has quickly emerged as a unique and powerful voice in the Australian music scene. Known for their genre-defying blend of indie rock, reggae, and hip-hop, the Perth five-piece has earned a reputation for their high-energy live shows, emotional depth, and impressive musicality since forming in 2020.
Since their inception, South Summit have been on a steep upward climb: their debut The Bliss debuted at #2 on the ARIA Australian Album Charts, became a triple j Feature Album, and the band performed an incredible rendition of ‘Roxanne’ for Like A Version. Their live reputation has fuelled international sell-outs and growing global attention, performing at the Great Escape to a packed-out tent, and sold-out venues across London, Manchester, Cornwall, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. They’ve earned coveted spots on Spotify’s New Music Friday AU/NZ, Local Noise, Rock Out, and Original Storytellers, as well as Apple Music’s New Music Daily, Heaps Indie, and Today’s Rock.
With a fiercely loyal and rapidly expanding fanbase, fresh music on the way and a packed summer of touring ahead, South Summit are firmly cementing themselves as one of Australia’s most exciting rising acts.

AMNPLIFY – DB

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
