Just over a year since the release of their debut album Sunlight, Spacey Jane are back with new music and an accompanying video giving us “Lots of Nothing”.
Having spent half of the year since Sunlight’s release unable to tour and the remaining 6 months playing live shows whenever and wherever humanly (and COVIDly) possible, the Fremantle four piece are stoked to be serving up a new tune.
As fans have grown fondly familiar with, the single stands true to Spacey Jane’s trademark catchy yet lyrically deep musical offerings.
Lead singer Caleb Harper talks through the themes of the new track; “Lots of Nothing is about wrestling with the parts of yourself that you don’t like and how you can see those traits as a whole other person. It’s about trying to accept all the parts of yourself, good and bad, before you are able to work on the person that you want to become.”

Spacey Jane’s debut album Sunlight, released last year, reached #2 on the ARIA charts, was nominated for a J Award for Album of the Year and was voted Album of the Year in the triple j Listener’s Poll. This year started with a big bang, with Spacey Jane’s Top 10 and platinum single “Booster Seat” taking out the number 2 spot in triple j’s Hottest 100. Three more tracks from Sunlight made the countdown, with “Weightless” at #81, “Straightfaced” at #28 and “Skin” placing #15.
Having just returned from a completely sold out 27 date national tour in support of Sunlight, Spacey Jane might be back on home soil, but they’re straight into writing and recording new material.
Good friend and long time visual collaborator Matt Sav has been at work with the band to create an accompanying video for the single. You can watch it here.
