SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS
A HEADLINER ANNOUNCEMENT
to make you
FEEL GOOD INC

With everyone’s favourite Aussie festival now on hold until 23 – 25 July 2021, Splendour HQ has been hard at work to lock in the lineup for the new dates and today we’re excited to announce three of the headliners for Splendour in the Grass 2021!
In good news, we can confirm that both Tyler, The Creator and The Strokes have signed up for the new dates. Unfortunately, Flume isn’t available for July 2021, but silver linings…
Splendour is beyond excited to announce that legendary virtual British band Gorillaz will be heading to Byron to Rock The House for their 20th Anniversary event.

Virtual British band Gorillaz is singer 2D, bassist Murdoc Niccals, guitarist Noodle and drummer Russel Hobbs. Created by musician Damon Albarn (Blur) and artist Jamie Hewlett (Tank Girl), their acclaimed eponymous debut album was released in 2001.
The BRIT and Grammy Award winning band’s subsequent albums are Demon Days (2005), Plastic Beach (2010), The Fall (2011), Humanz (2017) and The Now Now (2018), producing a string of instantly recognizable tracks including Feel Good Inc, Clint Eastwood, DARE and Dirty Harry to name a few.
A truly global phenomenon, Gorillaz have achieved success in entirely ground-breaking ways, topping charts and touring the world from San Diego to Syria, winning numerous awards including the coveted Jim Henson Creativity Honor. They are even recognised by The Guinness Book Of World Records as the planet’s Most Successful Virtual Act.
This year, Gorillaz is once again disrupting the paradigm and breaking convention in their round the back door fashion with Song Machine, the newest concept from one of the most inventive bands around. Song Machine – the cartoon music contraption which spits out brand new episodes fresh from the studio, as and when they happen – sees Gorillaz joined by an exciting and ever-evolving roster of collaborators which so far includes Fatoumata Diarwawa, Georgia, Octavian Peter Hook, ScHoolboy Q, Slaves, slowthai and Tony Allen. All captured live in Kong Studios, with more episodes to come! The cameras are rolling 24/7, the fourth wall is broken, the kettle is on, the chaos is real, the door is open… What’s coming next? Stay tuned.
We couldn’t be more excited to welcome them to Splendour!

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
