This November and December, with support from Create NSW, Spunk Records and Dinosaur City Records will launch ‘Hometowns’, a month-long program where the labels combined local rosters and friends return to their roots to perform, educate and engage with the communities in which they were raised, inspiring the next generation of young musicians across New South Wales. Two Regional NSW record labels, twenty+ acts, ten music venues and a trip of a lifetime! The tour will reach its peak half-way through at Wombarra for Spunk’s annual Coalchella festival for a final celebration of Spunk’s 20 years!
While the basic premise of Hometowns is for artists to return to their place of birth, the underlying feature is for the artist to return home and give love and support back to their local community. The shows in each town, will not just be one-off events. They are also going to encompass a full day of performances and talks at the artists’ former high schools. The partnerships aren’t just going to be with schools and the employed musicians, they are with the venues who are being encouraged to program contemporary music, which rarely (or never) happens in their venues.
Hometowns endeavours to bring relief to the community in these areas as well which aren’t on the regular touring circuit.
Gluing the whole process together is two record labels, Spunk & Dinosaur City:
Spunk is one of Australia’s longest running record labels, celebrating 20 years this year! It’s 650 releases have featured some of the most awe inspiring artists from around the globe. From Sufjan Stevens to Bill Callahan, Bat For Lashes & the Arcade Fire, the label has showcased some of the best artists of our time! They also built up a steady local roster over the 20 years & have had multiple AMP award & Aria award nominations for Gold Class, the Middle East, Jack Ladder, Holly Throsby & Seeker Lover Keeper. In 2008, Spunk Records moved headquarters to the South Coast & currently has signed a large number of NSW & regional NSW acts.
Dinosaur City Records – formed in 2015 by Jordanne Chant and Cody Munro Moore – has released 15+ records, annual mixtapes and is known for starting the careers of artists such as Body Type and Gauci. The label is ingrained heavily in the Sydney Music Scene, but has strong roots on the far south coast of NSW, where its co-founder Cody was raised.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
