Release brand new single

‘Rising Tide’

Electro-punk Duo SSHH are excited to bring you their brand-new single ‘RisingTide’ which will be released on Friday March 2.

‘Rising Tide’ is the first new music since the band’s debut album “Issues” was released in November of 2016.

With the demo recorded in Black Dog in Devon and then finished in London, the single was written and recorded by Zak & Sshh. The concept of the song was born on a rainy night drive from Devon, when the duo were having an argument, and Sshh looked out the window and remembered thinking ‘goddammit I can’t stop this rain from falling just like I can’t stop loving you’.  Those few words went on to inspire the lyrics for their brand-new single ‘Rising Tide’.

A rare breed of band with comparisons ranging from Aphex Twin to The Sex Pistols, the duo of guitarist Zak Starkey and vocalist Sshh known as SSHH, were recently described by NME as ‘a pelvis swinging slice of gnarly power-pop rock with vocals so saucy they make ketchup seem like mere water’.

With drumming credentials for the likes of The Who and Oasis, Zak Starkey (Son of Ringo Starr) steps out from the drum kit and slings on his guitar with attitude & skill. He plays the guitar like he plays the drums, with a precise wildness that makes you want to boogie! By his side is Sshh, the mad singing, harmonica slinging pocket rocket from down under. Stalking across the music with a catlike prowess, Sshh is strong and seductive, with vocals that have been described as a mixture of ‘Bowie, Siouxsie Sioux, Iggy Pop, Karen O & Robert Plant’.

SSHH have also been exciting audiences around the country supporting Liam Gallagher earlier this year, and the band are now currently on tour across Australia supporting Primal Scream.  For these Australian shows Zak and Sshh have been playing with local Aussie girl Alison Foster on drums. You can catch SSHH supporting Primal Scream on Tuesday February 20 at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney, and on Wednesday February 21 at The Tivoli in Brisbane.

‘Rising Tide’ will be released on Friday March 2.
