“Steve Lacy is back with some new solo music and it’s aural equivalent of a hazy summer’s day…” – i-D
“… a slow, sultry sampling of Lacy’s elegant funk that’ll whet your appetite for way, way more of him.” – GQ
“Lacy’s honeyed vocals, listless guitar grooves and the double entendre title make ‘N Side’ feel like the soundtrack to a romantic daydream.” – PASTE MAGAZINE

Steve Lacy — best known as the guitarist of space-soul band THE INTERNET – will release his debut solo album, Apollo XXI, on May 24th via 3QTR / AWAL. One of the most eagerly-awaited debuts in years, options for purchasing the album on vinyl via the US are featured now on geminigemz.com.
Lacy recently released a taste of Apollo XXI in the form of N Side, with The New York Times saying the song “is a narcotically mellow inversion of casually strutting 1970s R&B. On the one hand, it’s about yearning, with Lacy’s vocals aquatically damp; but on the other, Lacy is far too at ease — far too chill — to really break a sweat.”
Lacy is currently one of four covers for the current ‘Voice of a Generation’ issue of i-D alongside environmental activist Greta Thunberg and models Nathan Westling and Ugbad Abdi. Read the exclusive interview HERE.

About Steve Lacy:
At the ripe age of 20, the Grammy-nominated Compton native already has a veteran’s resume; he was Wired Magazine’s Tech Visionary, Time Magazine’s Most Influential Teen, produced-written-featured with Solange, J Cole, Vampire Weekend, Blood Orange and produced some of Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN on his iPhone. He’s also toured the world 3x with his band mates The Internet, given a TED Talk, worked extensively with Louis Vuitton on behalf of Virgil Abloh (including walking at the LV Paris Fashion Week show) and has now eschewed all major label offers to release his first album on his terms.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
