Exceptionally great news for the music industry moving forward. The two SummerSalt shows at Mornington Peninsula on the weekend were a huge success which saw over 15,000 fans come together to see live music. The electrically charged atmosphere could not be denied. For the past 12 months, punters have been starved from seeing live music given the current situation we are faced with. The show also saw 36,000 international fans tune into the live stream, bringing Australian music to the world.
SummerSalt has continued to deliver cream of the crop artists to the great Australian outdoors, and the weekend’s sold-out shows featured the stellar line up of: THE CAT EMPIRE, THE TESKEY BROTHERS, JOHN BUTLER, BOY & BEAR, and MONTAIGNE.
Thanks to Zaccaria Concerts & Touring, the tour commenced in Adelaide Sunday week ago, which had over 7,000 people flock to Glenelg Beach to see six great Australian artists perform in a Covid safe environment. The event was able to proceed there due to the work of many people behind the scenes and working in line with the South Australian Government Covid restrictions.
SummerSalt is the first major outdoor concert event in Australia to successfully comply with the strictest Covid 19 conditions and requirements. Chief Executive Officer, John Zaccaria, praised his team responsible for achieving further success for the Mornington shows “our whole crew worked tirelessly and diligently to achieve this great result,”he said. “The artists were also incredible. The police service and local government officers worked hard to support the concerts and we are thankful to the Victorian Government for being open for business and giving live entertainment an opportunity to make its way back after a dark 12 months. Our biggest thanks go to the patrons who attended and accepted the new format and conditions in great spirit,” John said.
SummersSalt is the only known tour of its size happening anywhere in the world right now. This tour sets a new precedent and provides an innovative template for large scale audiences in future Covid safe concert settings. Mr Zaccaria said the live shows with mass gatherings proved that well planned and executed events could be safely and successfully staged even in difficult circumstances. The three SummerSalt shows have attracted over 22,000 fans, employed thousands of people which include road crew, local businesses, contractors, event staff and is a model for future outdoor concerts.
