“What would Ajax do?”, or “would Ajax love it?” are common mottos within the Sweat It Out ranks. Mostly applied when chatting about new music, making decisions on branding, where to go for lunch, or in this case, how to throw a mega party! To celebrate the release of ‘Sweat It Out 2008 – 2018’, we are over the moon to announce two massive parties in both Sydney and Melbourne to take place on Friday 2nd November, and Saturday 3rd November.
Teaming up with the legendary team at The Island LIVE in Sydney, and the epic crew at the Prince Bandroom in Melbourne, we invite you to join us for a retrospective look at the last 10 years of Sweat It Out. A line-up we think our beloved founder Ajax would have frothed, and surely gotten amongst, we bring you some of the greatest, nay finest artists of the Australian electro scene, and some of our favourite Sweat It Out producers to boot.
Headlining both shows with a live performance is none other than Parachute Youth, who gained the love and attention of the Australian audience with their 2012 gold record ‘Can’t Get Better Than This’. In the most genuine of throwbacks, we are delighted to announce a live set from Gameboy/Gamegirl, taking the honour of the very first Sweat release in 2008 with ‘Sweaty Wet / Dirty Damp’. In honour of Ajax, The Bang Gang Deejays return to the stage to take us back to the glory days of the Sydney clubbing scene. Followed by some of the biggest team-ups to have hit our shores, including a DJ set from Miami Horror (‘Holidays/’Sometimes’), the legendary duo behind ‘Where The Party’s At’, Tonite Only (one part Simon Lewicki aka Groove Terminator, one part Sam Littlemore of Pnau) and, back together once more – Yolanda Be Cool & Dcup, who have delivered some of the label’s biggest successes including an international #1 on ‘We No Speak Americano’. With two industry heavyweights, K.I.M (of The Presets fame) and Black Angus (one half of the iconic Sneaky Sound System duo) also set to play, it’s safe to say, we’re serious. Well loved underground house DJ Casette joins the onslaught, as an absolute staple of the electro era. Further Sweat It Out icons, all having released on the label and working behind the scenes, Danny T, Airwolf and Harris Robotis. And to cap it all off, some our more recent local label favourites, Indian Summer, Motez & Go Freek, and a sprinkle of very sweaty special guests! Be sure to check out below event posters for specific billings in each city!
Label co-founder, Matt Handley delves deep, “though I was a “kid” when the label launched back in 2008, and AJAX was my hero, I still feel like a very proud father looking back on the children we have helped bring into the world. From Parachute Youth to RÜFÜS to What So Not and Motez…. the list goes on. It’s great to have some of the peeps that were there at the start to come along and play for us and celebrate 10 years of the label, not to mention Miami Horror who, as part of Gameboy/Gamegirl, was our very first release, and incidentally (and wow – what a way to start!), our first Beatport Number one.”

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
