Swick shares new single “Polo Love”
One of the most exciting producers pioneering Australia’s club scene is Swick, who today shares his new single “Polo Love” featuring Spank Rock – out now on Nina Las Vegas’ label NLV Records.
In true Swick style, “Polo Love” is a a genre blurring combination of crazy club sounds, heartfelt melodies and unpredictable instrumentals. Progressive and truly original is something we’ve come to expect from the Melbourne producer. The track features U.S rapper, vocalist and Avalanches live member Spank Rock, who also appeared on Swick’s Stamina EP.
From Spank Rock: “The [Polo Love] collaboration came about while we were staring at the weather raining onto the pool. We’re also both antisocial Prince fanatics who have a lot of love for burgers.”
Last year’s infectious, collab-heavy Stamina EP also featured Eden XO, Henrik the Artist and Marcus Whale of Collarbones. The refreshing body of work as well as the more recent “Offside”, set fire to the dance community as Swick’s experimental sounds pushed genre boundaries and firmly cemented him as a serious contender in the electronic music scene.
So far, Swick’s musical career has been nothing short of spectacular, having previously worked with the likes of Major Lazer, Tkay Maidza and Lewis Cancut. His debut EP Keep It Gully, a collaborative release with Mad Decent’s Diplo featured the B-side “Dat A Freak” which formed the basis of Jennifer Lopez’s “Booty” ft. Pitbull and Iggy Azalea.
Last month, Swick supported Diplo on his Australian tour, playing alongside Post Malone, Anna Lunoe and Nina Las Vegas to packed pavilion-sized venues across Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne.
Having been tipped as One To Watch in triple j’s annual magazine, Swick is consistently releasing music that is both dynamic and whimsical, a morphed sound that has no classification and asks only to be enjoyed.
