Sydney Yungins have given us a surprise drop just before the year is up. ‘Ride or Die’ is a laidback Summer bop with that wavey flow. Jumping on the hook is the insanely talented A.GIRL.
Rico, Titoez and Leli have gone from underground sensations to multi-million streamers since their group, Sydney Yungins, formed in 2019. Their 2021 tracks ‘Eshay’s’, ‘Rowdy’ and ‘Dead Wrong’ have garnered international support and ‘Eshays’ hitting over 10 million streams in 9 months.
‘Ride or Die’ is released via BHQ Records with A.GIRL appearing courtesy of Volkanik Music. It has a west coast Californian sound that gives that sunny optimism. The song’s bounce feels like 90s gangster funk but with a modern flow.
The boys knew they needed a female leaning hook that could give strong energy. “We hit up A.GIRL and met up at El Jannah’s. We talked about the concept of a reliable woman standing by her man. A.GIRL got the vision, wrote the hook, we jumped in the studio and the next day the song was done. When a track comes together that fast, we know it’ll be dope.”
The track’s lyrics are formed around loyalty and street hustle. A.GIRL describes her lyrics, “’Ride or Die’ is about staying loyal to your fams. I’m talking homies – not just the men but my girls too. I think I’m a fiercely loyal person and I portray that in all aspects. For me this song is about never judging until someone does wrong to you personally. Until then ima ride or die for you.”
The accompanying music video was produced by Ciima. The video portrays a heist in action with all members dressed in style. It encapsulates the track’s confident and carefree vibe. Check it out below.
Sydney Yungins will be touring with ‘Lunar Electric’ and ‘Sydney Festival’ this year, tickets below. A.GIRL will be supporting ChillinIT on his ‘One Night Only 2022 Tour’ across Australia this year. Bigger venues now added, limited tickets available.
