Gold Coast’s award-winning singer-songwriter, ELEEA, takes us on a climactic, heart-aching journey from the Australian outback with atmospheric new ballad, Space, out 13 August.
Heart firmly on her sleeve, ELEEA’s introspective lyrics and “towering vocals” (Dave Ruby Howe, Triple J) rise from sensitivity to strength, ruminating relationship woes over delicate electric guitar licks by ARIA chart-topping producer, Brad Hoskings (Amy Shark).
Written in the silence of the NSW outback, ELEEA drew inspiration from home soil for this second release from The Travel Collection – an anthology of songs inspired by her solo backpacking trips to more than 35 countries.
“I drove 23-hours from the Gold Coast to Broken Hill with my chihuahua, Trembles. Sleeping in my driver’s seat, bursting two tyres in the middle of nowhere and having to knock at stranger’s houses to find a phone! It was a comedy of errors, but eventually I got there,” said ELEEA.
“After seeing the stars in the outback, I wrote Space the next day on an ancient, out of tune piano in this late-1800s apartment. It’s about a long term relationship that ended because of the distance that had grown between us, both literally and figuratively, as we were apart so much.”

Despite the lyrics arising from her personal life, ELEEA could never have known how relevant this sentiment would be when COVID-19 lockdowns struck during the release of her previous single, Wasting Time, in March, cancelling her entire year of travel and tour plans.
“The first time I played Space for an audience was during a live-stream concert, and I had tears in my eyes. The chorus has taken on a whole new meaning now, with everyone globally united, experiencing this pandemic together, yet having to stay completely distanced from each other.”
“It’s relevant to where I’m at right now actually, as I’m getting ready to release this song from a 14-day hotel quarantine in Tasmania, where I’ll be for a few months. I’m looking forward to extending The Travel Collection – Australia Edition.”
While she may not be getting overseas inspiration any time soon, after receiving the APRA Sustainability grant, placing Highly Commended in the 2020 Queensland Music Awards and with the release of Space, it seems it’s written in the stars that even a global pandemic can’t stop ELEEA from launching.
The new single, Space by ELEEA is available on all digital outlets 13 August.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
