The Tambah Project began as a “casual lofty conversation on the beach between two people wanting to change the world. Their tool of choice; music. The big idea was to use the power of music to connect, move and inspire positive change whilst rewilding the planet.” Bringing three Australian artists together once a year to collaborate on a song with the purpose of encouraging environmental change, The Tambah Project has artists head to idyllic Byron Bay to co-create a unique song written and recorded from start to finish in one weekend.

The debut single, “Our Song” (STREAM HERE), written in less than two days by Billy Otto, Kyle Lionhart, and Nidala Barker is an exciting pop anthem about hope, connection and regeneration. Ed Foster and Emtones who originally conceived the project explain, “It was written in response to the Bushfires, and then subsequently COVID 19, when there was a real sense of despair. Notwithstanding the gravity of the situation, we wanted to remind everyone that there are pockets of beauty that still exist in nature, people and everything around us that show us the potential on the other side; that together we are stronger, and that it is possible to regenerate the environment, our social structures and everything around us.”

Recorded by Paul Pilsnenks at Rockinghorse Studios, Billy explains, “It’s just been really fulfilling this weekend; really wholesome, not just to make music for coolness sake – keeping it cool, but also having messaging that is just so pure and so for the people.” This is just the beginning for Tambah Project – “if we could plant a whole forest just from people listening to our music then we’d be stoked.”

Channeling the spirit of artists that use their influence and creative power to transmit positive messages such as Nick Mulvey, Nina Simone and Bob Marley, The Tambah Project has created a platform where artists come together to write songs about things that matter, as determined by the people that matter the most – the fans. One of the most inspiring aspects of the project is that the songs are carbon neutral and the more people listen the greener it gets, with all profits going to Wild Ark — a non-profit working to conserve and rewild the earth.

A collaboration led by LUSTRE, an artist management company and record label with offices in Byron Bay, London, Amsterdam, and Byron-based Wye In The Sky Records, a for-purpose label promoting healthy living for a healthy planet, The Tambah Project believes in the vision of music making the world a better place.

“Our Song” is out now.
